Without Parole won. Even though the victory was described as 'workman-like' by the track announcer, this race should set him up well for an Ascot run.

Hats off to his owner/breeder, John Gunther, whose farm is also responsible for breeding Justify. The Gunthers are really doing something right. :D

Favorite Saxon Warrior drew stall 1 for the Epsom Derby on Saturday. He is one of five entries for AOB and four for Coolmore.

Hawkbill and Idaho take on heavy favorite Cracksman in the Coronation Cup (G1) tomorrow, which is run two races before the Epsom Oaks.

I think Cracksman is the best horse in the race, but I think under the right circumstances he is beatable. I think Hawkbill will like the ground conditions and I think the pace scenario favors him.

IIRC, Idaho won a stayer's stakes recently. Highland Reel's little brother has proven stamina and may be coming into this race on the improve.

Cosmic Law (by No Nay Never (grand sire Scat Daddy)) won the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom on Oaks day very impressively!

No Nay Never is off to a good start, isn’t he? Then again, he has the Coolmore colossus behind him...

Cracksman wins the Grade 1 Coronation Cup but had to really work for it. Brilliant ride on 2nd place Salouen who almost stole the race and a good run from German raider Winstoss in 3rd.

Idaho and Hawkbill trailed off

Forever Together breaks her maiden in style, bolting up in the Oaks for Coolmore, Aiden and Donnacha O’Brien! Another Classic winner for Galileo

Forever Together (IRE): Galileo x Green Room (making this filly a half to Lord Shanakill)... not the well known US-based Champion Turf Mare Forever Together

I think I was even more impressed by Cracksman today, since he didn't have it easy and had to really work to get his head in front. A very good, brave horse. IMO, both Idaho and Hawkbill couldn't handle the soft ground and just got really tired.
I was surprised Coolmore named their nice filly Forever Together. I know that there are different registries involved, but surely they are aware of our champion Forever Together, who just retired eight years ago. :?

John Gosden reported today that Cracksman hit his head hard on the stalls right before the gates opened and that's why he slightly missed the break.

Not a great trip for Saxon Warrior, but I don’t think he would have caught Masar even with a perfect trip.

Yeah, Saxon Warrior was boxed in for quite a while and, when Ryan tried to get him out, he was blocked and had to check a little. Maybe he wouldn't have caught Masar but, if he had been able to make a continuous run with no obstacles, he would have been much closer, IMHO.
Nice pedigree on Masar...by the 2008 Derby winner New Approach (Galileo) out of Khawlah (Cape Cross), who took the UAE Oaks and the UAE Derby at Meydan in 2011.

Ride of the season from Elaura Cieslik today in France? Saddle slips in straight, but rides on bareback to win by 3/4 length. Calm and courage to rival any big-name jock.
Look for the white shadow roll near the rail - #2 in blue/white silks. Saddle was completely upside down and back to the stifle!
