Surprising news out of England today, as it was revealed that Qatari Royal Sheikh Joaan al Thani's Al Shaqab Racing is in considerable debt with many of its British and French Trainers

Al Shaqab has easily been one of the fastest growing operations in the world, spending tons of money at auctions and buying horses in training, but usually the Qatari/Emirati/Saudi Arabian money seems bottomless.

I think the colt will have been off for about four-and-a-half months by then. That should be enough time for a good freshening.

He skipped the Arc last year, and I was under the impression that Juddmonte wanted to give the colt another year to mature before running in the 12-furlong Arc. If that is still the plan, I wonder if he will run just one or two times after the Sheema Classic (maybe Royal Ascot?) and then rest up until an Arc prep in September.

You're right about his owners wanting to wait until 2018 before running him in the Arc, but he is owned by Anthony Oppenheimer, not Juddmonte.

Without Parole, a son of Frankel out of the dam of Tamarkuz, bred by John Gunther (Justify, Vino Russo), is running in the Norwich Novice stakes on April 24. Trained by John Gosden, is a prep for 2000 Guineas. Anyone in UK have any more information? Thanks!

He's got a 1:1-0-0 record so far and his win came in an all weather 1 mile maiden December 16th. He's entered for the Guineas (for which he is a general 25/1) and the Dante Stakes which in turn is a prep for the Derby. He broke his maiden by 6 lengths so it seems he might have some talent!

RacingPost, which is always a good source for Euro info, has the cards w/entries up for April 24. The Novice Stakes shows 41 horses, but I presume those are just the possibles (nominated?)....although with British races, you can't be certain that the field won't still be huge.

If you're looking at the list of horses in the field and click on a horse's name, you will get a new window with the horse's stats; breeding, race record, etc.

I don't think you have to sign up with a bookmaker to just read RacingPost; at least, I never have.

To answer your question, yes, Without Parole is in that list of 41 entrants for the Novice Stakes. Also Staplegrove, the first runner I've seen by the beautiful Camelot.

Some of their features and articles require a paid membership to the site, but that's unrelated to betting.

When I try on my phone, I have to choose which bookie's odds I'd like displayed but I don't have to sign up with them

I just checked the results for the Norwich and discovered that I had missed seeing that the race had been split into two divisions.

Corrosive (Uncle Mo x Lovely Syn/Freud) won the 1st division and the Frankel colt Without Parole won the 2nd.

Without Parole won by 6 lengths in a time more than 2 seconds faster than Corrosive. Very impressive.
