And now I'm feeling like an internet stalker and embarrassed and I should go crawl under a blanket and go back to lurking. Ack, eep. /o\

And yes, Summer Bird, that makes me feel a little better, thank you for sharing your experience. <3

I did the very same thing last night. Continued thoughts for her & all her connections.
That birth was witnessed by many folks through Foal Patrol, people with various levels of knowledge about these kinds of things. I think the farm must have asked that for further updates send email to that address. I saw that same post on all the pages where I saw folks talking about the birth. I think they would expect to get email in response.

I didn't send email only because I know how crazy this time of year is for the foaling/breeding farms, with or without complications. It'd be nice if they respond but I wouldn't be surprised if it took them awhile. And I still hope no news is good news for the foal and mom, that they're still fighting.

Better yet I hope, at some point in time, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame posts a blog educating viewers about these rare complications, and lets the farm employees continue about their business. Perhaps if Edition Farm gets enough email, the museum will see the need to do that so don't feel bad about contacting the farm as they requested. I just hope they've all thought through this possibility and it doesn't stop them from doing these livestreams again in the future. Things like this really can be a fun and real-life educational experience for racing fans.

Come on, La Verdad, get this done - don't make them have to collect your colostrum - that's no fun.

Nothing has happened, but La Verdad hasn't looked like a happy camper since she came in.

Will La Verdad foal while so many people are around?

I'm guessing not a problem since I counted 9 people hovering  and there are little hooves peeking out from La Verdad even as we speak

I can't believe I'm actually not going to miss a foaling on a live foal cam! This never happens!

She sure does have a lot of people crowded around her. Hopefully she's all right, maybe this is standard for the barn. In the foalings I've seen live, they only enter the stall if the mare looks like she is really struggling.

That is the only time we ever entered the stall during foaling.

Looks like quite a bit of chrome on that bay..

And wow that was a lot of folks in the stall..12 at last count. Wonder if that's the norm or if she's a barn favorite

Crowded house indeed. All that pulling can't be easy on the cervix :? But, I'm not a pro.

The owner is getting her photo op, though

The owner is definitely not camera shy

I think at least 3 stockings and a blaze, not sure about any markings on one hind leg. Wonder if she'll end up being a gray and hiding all that pretty bling

Poor baby is having a heck of a time figuring out how to stand

She was trying to stand pretty quickly, overall. She'll get it.

First, let's give the owner a break. She's obviously infatuated with her mare, so let's let her enjoy it however she wants. She's pretty new to this as well, right?

And at some point, that mom is going to come over and nudge the foal and it's going to pop to its feet. Always a time of relief, and always a thrill.

Come on little girl, let's do this. UP!

La Verdad is the most over handled broodmare I've ever seen.
