I'm not sure but I think La Verdad may be in labor

I was trying to tell if she's just sleep twitching, but she did look at her side a few times and she's lifted her tail a bit too so it might be the early stages, finally...

ETA that was definitely a kick, and she's getting back up

Now she is back up and has paced around the stall, she keeps turning her head towards her belly. :)

Came here and saw that she might be in labor, so I just checked (9:46pm EDT). LaV's owner is in there feeding the mare carrots and checking on her. I can't tell if a mare is in early stages of labor or not, but it's sure touching how much LaV's owner loves that mare. LaV seems to love her back.

LaV is funny. Someone went in to put water in her bucket, but the mare wanted it out of the bucket the person was holding, lol.

Maybe she has some cat in her. My felines much prefer their water bowls freshly filled...or drinking running water out of my hands.

This foal photo (Chrome ex Fitz Just Right) reminds me of those pictures of impossibly large dogs from eastern Europe.

She's been intermittently acting like it, sniffing at her bedding & kicking at her belly and lifting her tail and a bit of pacing, but that could just be late-pregnancy discomfort. She did seem to be drinking and peeing more today, who knows. And the most recent check (8:20pm Pacific) the attendant was really looking at her udder and lower hind legs, I assume to see if/how much waxing or if milk may be dripping.

She's been pretty steady at her hay for a bit now, when earlier she seemed more uncomfortable and disinterested in it.

No idea but she'll probably go when we're all sleeping or at work tomorrow, LOL.

You can really tell La Verdad's owner really loves her, she's taking selfie's with her at 12:32 PM Alaska time

I was a little worried this morning, I checked first thing when I was getting ready for work (7am Pacific) and the livestream was "not available"... so I checked from my work laptop an hour later while my kidlets were working on their phonics/math warmup and there she was, in her stall eating hay as calm as you please.

I was happy to see everything was okay and I closed the tab right away but we'll see if I get a talking-to for visiting a foaling cam during work hours...

Lurkey,
Hopefully you won't. Her owners have been in her stall off and on most of the day including giving her a thorough grooming as well as lots of pictures being taken and her udder being checked frequently.

She looks really uncomfortable at times, shifting from hoof to hoof.

I think the foal is coming tonight, La Veradad has been looking very uncomfortable lately and has tried to lay down a few times in the last 10 minutes or so.

It's been noted on Twitter that the foal patrol bonus- It's in his kiss had a filly at 440 am this morning. First reports mom & foal doing well.
2nd reported noted that there were foaling complications and the filly is at the vets.
I hope everything is ok.

Chrome's first foals are a very nice looking bunch so far. To date, Taylor Made has used three great-looking foals in eye-catching ads.

There's a foaling cam up now at Taylor Made for The People's Horse mare, Colerful Bride, carrying a filly by California Chrome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAq5oh_-hZk

This big, beautiful California Chrome filly was born last night at Polo Green! She’s out of the Street Sense mare Like A Million.

@Sparrow Castle, thanks for the photos of the two new foals. Both are adorable.

Came here to report that La Verdad is eating hay at the moment (8:12PM EDT as I type this). Her due date is still two days away, so it's anybody's guess when she'll give birth, but right now she seems calm with no obvious signs of labor.
