2018 foals

Just checked in with La Verdad and saw the gray mare who doesn't look anywhere as close to foaling as La Verdad. LaV looks huge, with belly in more of a v shape, which I've been told means the foal has turned. So who knows. Hopefully all is well and she will have her baby tonight.

Maybe the gray mare is dripping milk, but who knows. She was a bit active, walking around a bit and kicking at her stomach a bit. Could be more anxious about moving into a new stall since she’s been eating hay for a bit now.

They've been checking on the grey mare more frequently, too, IMO - phones out for pics maybe? Or a vid clip? Or maybe just in communication with the owner/s (Edition Farm has three or four grey broodmares on their web page, so it might be one of theirs? maybe they moved her in to give the cam viewers a foal sooner rather than later if they think LaV still isn't that close?)... it's a mystery!

I noticed that they have been checking on the gray much more frequently then they were La Verdad. This is a fun mystery to follow

I'm wondering if La Verdad is in labor in the other stall because I see a lot of people walking around the stall and a photographer is there. Hope things are going okay. They gray mare does show signs of discomfort at times too, maybe they'll have 2 foals tonight.

There's definitely activity across the way but I don't think they put LaV there, they took her down the aisleway the other direction. This might be the mare they were talking about last night... curiouser and curiouser!

ETA: yeah I went back and looked at the footage of the swap again (abt 1hr 42m ago as of now) and it seems like they literally just swapped into the next stall. They started watching across the way about an hour later.

Right now (about 10:00pm Saturday EST), the gray mare is quiet and appears to be resting or sleeping standing up. There are about three people walking around outside the stall, but it looks like routine stuff. LaV seemed ok before they moved her, and according to the due date published on the site, she's not due for five more days. So hopefully all is well.

The gray looks like she is cribbing at the moment 10:05 PM EST, she is very curious about what is happening in the aisle with the people.

I saw her cribbing too, bad girl.

I wondered if they were moving shavings into the aisle to change the bedding if/when there is a foal across the aisle... it didn't look too heavy but it was sizeable sacks of something!

ETA now they're in the grey mare's stall, think they may be getting ready to film a clip so we know what's up!

Yep, underneath the video in the "Bonus foals at Edition" section they posted the video. The mare in the stall is Its In His Kiss.

Way too many people around now for it to be anything other than a mare foaling, I think.

the foal's out but they're really rubbing on it at there was an oxygen mask looking squeezy thing...

edit; the little fella's moving, but looks super weak.
edit2: s/he's jolting every few seconds, but is otherwise still.
edit3; It's in his Kiss is getting carrots and pets, they're using a pillow and towels to prop the foal up
