It really is. So touching and heartwarming. So is the barely born photo of the Chrome x American Farrah filly. Ah, foals...sometimes just seeing photos like these lifts my spirits.Miss Woodford wrote:That photo is absolutely precious.Sparrow Castle wrote:RP Bloodstock @rpbloodstock

On the Foal Patrol cams, La Verdad is live & streaming (the farm was briefly without electricity due to the big storm). She's been moved into a foaling stall and has shown wax on her udder so they're saying in the next few days!

Oh, exciting. I've been checking in on those mares and foals daily. Will be nice to see a new one.lurkey mclurker wrote:On the Foal Patrol cams, La Verdad is live & streaming (the farm was briefly without electricity due to the big storm). So excited! I was wondering if she went offline because they were moving her to a foaling stall. I hope more farms add mares after she and Memento foal. I've got my office co-workers, who are total non-horse people, hooked on Foal Patrol. I get texts after hours with "oh did you see that??" and "why is she doing this?" and "what does this mean?" It's been a lot of fun educating them and they're very keen to see one of the births, so they'll be watching La Verdad closely for labor signs I've told them about.lurkey mclurker wrote:On the Foal Patrol cams, La Verdad is live & streaming (the farm was briefly without electricity due to the big storm). She was sleeping stretched out on her side an hour or so ago, it did NOT look very comfortable.

La Verdad has her left hind wrapped. I hope all is well with her. She's standing facing the camera now as I type this, so it's hard to get a sense of what's going on with that left hind, but she seems to be favoring it, trying not to put too much weight on it.lurkey mclurker wrote:She was sleeping stretched out on her side an hour or so ago, it did NOT look very comfortable.

Maybe she did something in the paddock earlier. The weather there is abysmal and she and her pals were doing some running around this morning.Ridan_Remembered wrote:La Verdad has her left hind wrapped. I hope all is well with her. I looked back in the footage and about 90 minutes ago she was rolling around in her hay and then stood up no problem & was standing square with her weight on it and eating her hay without any apparent discomfort, so maybe it's just a nick/cut/scratch.
It's common for them to rest with one hoof cocked, as she is now and if you go back about 17 minutes she was actually resting the opposite hind while weight-bearing on the wrapped one.

Thanks Lurkey. I appreciate you checking in on her and letting me know everything seems ok. Love these mares and the babies they are carrying.lurkey mclurker wrote:I looked back in the footage and about 90 minutes ago she was rolling around in her hay and then stood up no problem & was standing square with her weight on it and eating her hay without any apparent discomfort, so maybe it's just a nick/cut/scratch.

How adorable! I was at Colonial when the mare won the Tippett Stakes in her first start. Been a fan ever since...Sparrow Castle wrote:Ramsey Farm @Ramsey_Farm
