This is cool. The California breeding industry needs a potentially excellent regional sire, and I hope DC develops that way. The DC to R Sunday Surprise mating introduces linebreeding to the direct female family of Unbridle's Song and Lucky Pulpit. Their dams were 3/4ths sisters. Kentucky breeders seem to have been trying a similar pattern with some mares sent to Chrome for his first crop. Will be interesting to see how it works out. Unbridled's Song was the paternal grandsire of DC's dam.Sparrow Castle wrote:Adrian Gonzalez @CheckmateRacing

R Sunday Surprise (full sister to California Chrome) has been booked to visit DANZING CANDY for 2018.
Lucky Pulpit was bred to be a good one, but an early illness left him with life-long respiratory issues. He actually was a pretty good sire in the Cal market considering his very limited opportunities. And Love The Chase has produced two winners from four named foals (to date), one of whom is Chrome. That's a good produce record for any mare. So I would think her daughter has a shot to produce something decent from this mating.
