Cost of Freedom, 10 years old and a winner of over a million dollars, finished 10th of 11 in an $8,000 claimer at Hollywood this afternoon.
Please, Nick Hines and the rest of Battleborn Racing...retire this classy old gelding. He deserves to go out sound enough to enjoy a well-earned retirement, and not when he's too lame to walk without pain. And before the worst happens.

He was claimed by an owner/trainer duo that runs mostly at Turf Paradise. However, folks who tried to buy Cost of Freedom from Hines et al. earlier this week have already talked to the new trainer and will talk more. They say he at least seemed open to discussion.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:Cost of Freedom, 10 years old and a winner of over a million dollars, finished 10th of 11 in an $8,000 claimer at Hollywood this afternoon.

Tightend Touchdown begins year
Tightend Touchdown, who has not started since finishing in a dead heat for second in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, will launch his 2014 campaign in Saturday’s $75,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint.
Tightend Touchdown concluded his 2013 season with a series of frustrating losses, culminating with his big effort in the Breeders’ Cup. The versatile gelding also was second, beaten less than a length, in Parx’s Grade 3 Turf Monster Handicap, second in the Grade 3 Parx Dash Handicap and second in Saratoga’s Fiddlers Patriot. Prior to those efforts, Tightend Touchdown, who was reclaimed by trainer Jason Servis for $35,000 last winter at Aqueduct, had won three straight races, including the Pennsylvania Governor’s Cup Handicap at Penn National.
