Producer (GB)

Supposedly he enters stud next year, but he bred some mares this year. No, I have no idea why he's at stud, except...Calumet.

IMHO, there oughta be a law against outlining stallions. Photoshop does a disservice to all those horses.

Is it just the pic, or are those hooves a bit long?

Horses with worse records have gone to stud. He is a MGSW and was sound enough to race 31 times. He has a good pedigree.

You can tell the difference in quality of the photoshopping and the photos themselves between WinStar and Calumet.

Also I know TBs are often stood on slanted ground to make them look more balanced but Dortmund's is taking it to the extreme.

Was about to say, his dam is a half-sister to Serena's Song and he himself earned nearly $700k. And if his fee is low enough the color breeders will flock to him because he's a ~sabino~ with at least one belly spot that I can see and rabicano ticking.

I think Dortzilla would look better than I expected if he had his feet under him better. He doesn't look oafish anyway! But I'm still a sucker for hunky chestnuts.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Re: Dortmund, I don't think uneven ground is the issue. He's just leaning toward the Handler, which many have a tendency to do. It's a photographer's job to notice this. Sometimes if you just push on the horse's nose, they'll correct themselves. Sometimes you have to start over in getting them stood up. It looks like his legs are perfectly placed.

Re: Producer, perhaps I should have said why he is at stud in Kentucky, USA, not at stud period. But I don't see anyone flocking to him. I don't think anyone is flocking to any of Calumet's stallions, except maybe Oxbow.

Gun Runner is the best looking of those photos, but I saw a front shot of him and either he was standing weird or he turns out noticeably.

Classic Empire has a very straight shoulder, flat wither, and upright through the pastern.

Mr. Z needs to fill out.

Dortmund - I can't get over the way he is standing , and his pig eye.

He really reminds me of Pharoah conformationally from the neck back. Just beautifully structured. Same gorgeous wide shoulder that PotN and his sons seem to be stamping their get with so far.
