I loved Congaree as a racehorse. Glad he's still around, regardless of fee or size of book.

Who am I forgetting as to why they wouldnt have Quality Road's fee set yet?

Another young stallion who's babies I'd keep an eye on at the sales next year is Daredevil. For $7,500, I think he's very attractive and affordable, and I was impressed with the handful of weanlings I've seen so far this year.

Abel Tasman is a nice filly and I'm realizing Quality Road has Salty on his resume as well. Frank Conversation is slated to run in the BC, too. Have to give QR some credit - he's getting some good runners.

Nyquist at $40k seems a bit much to me. I love Uncle Mo, but man, that's quite a bit for a Derby winner who didn't do much else. I like Animal Kingdom and I hope his babies keep running well on the dirt. I feel like he's a bubble horse in more ways that most because of his "grassy" pedigree.

How old was Mr. P when he was pensioned- he was up there, but cant remember.

He never was. He stood the 1999 season (age 29) and then coliced in the summer and was put down.

For a Two-Year-Old Champ standing at Coolmore, it seems kind of reasonable. Whatever issues he may have had on the track, he does have a nice pedigree. Guess we'll find out in a couple of years whether that fee is reasonable, too high...or a bargain.

Uncle Mo started at $35k as well. And unlike CE, he hadn't even won a G1 at 3, and his female family while decent isn't in my opinion as elite as CE's. Plus CE is by probably one of the hottest emerging sirelines (Whether you mean Pioneerof the Nile or Empire Maker or both), I'd say all in all it's reasonable. Though I do think if he were standing elsewhere he'd probably start at $25k.

That's what happened- couldn't remember- that is really quite a long time- Im thinking that he has the record of the oldest active TB stallion.

He was Serena's first date- and the result was Serena's Tune(98)- who had Serena's Cat, dam of Honor Code, etc.

I'm just saying that when you look at the various +/- for each at the time of retirement, 35k seems about expected for Coolmore.
Disagree on him being a headcase considering every time he has acted out it was related to a health issue (abscess and subsequent back pain from being forced to run on an abscessed foot...)

American foundation sire Diomed bred mares until his death at age 31, while his famous grandson American Eclipse (who lived to age 33) continued breeding till he was 32.
