Omgosh I didn't think she'd get up there in time, after the rail closed off right in front of her as she was gearing up and then she had to come back and squeeze through the frontrunner and the rail AGAIN!! What a brave girl and definitely determined to win it!

I think you meant 'half brother to BIG Brown?'
That is a tremendous turf pedigree; Temple City/Dynaformer on top, and Nureyev on the bottom. I wonder if we will see this well-bred colt in the BC Juvenile Turf?

I seem to remember (not always dependable ) him competing in a jumps race this year. Maybe he just didn't draw many mares, so they have set him on a second career?

Ok, I've done some research:BaroqueAgain1 wrote:I seem to remember (not always dependable ) him competing in a jumps race this year. Maybe he just didn't draw many mares, so they have set him on a second career?
According to official records, he last raced nearly 2 years ago (11/13/2015).
As for those mares.. he's a gelding.
The last time I read about him was in an article on Bloodhorse on La Ville Rouge's retirement last year:
"La Ville Rouge visited Dynaformer, who died in 2012, for much of her broodmare career and infamously produced four full brothers to Barbaro but never a full sister. Nicanor and Lentenor are standing at stud, while Margano and Pennmarydel are living quieter lives. Margano is retired at Lael Farm, and he is turned out with millionaire and multiple grade I winner Showing Up."

Michael Dickinson doesn't specify any future plans for Archaggelos, just that he thinks the horse is talented.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:I think you meant 'half brother to BIG Brown?'

They didn't nominate him to to the G3 turf race for 2YOs at Keeneland on 10/8 or similar race at Belmont on 9/30, but did nominated him to the Grey S. at Woodbine on 10/1.

They should have named him Little Brown, he's definitely on the small side.mariasmon wrote:Yes, BIG BrownBaroqueAgain1 wrote:I think you meant 'half brother to BIG Brown?'

The optional $75,000 claiming sprint for 2-year-old fillies also drew Secret Passion, winner of the Prairie Gold Lassie at Prairie Meadows. Rose of Malibu is a candidate to advance to the Spendthrift Juvenile Filly Stallion Stakes at Churchill Downs on Oct. 29, said trainer C.R. Trout.

Should be an interesting race and it looks like a good spot of her. Al Hayyah [Lope de Vega (IRE) - Black Dahlia (GB) by Dansili (GB)] has been knocking at the door, and Showreel [Showcasing (GB) - Reel Style (GB) by Rainbow Quest] is coming back after that awful race a couple of weeks ago where most of the horses didn't finish.mariasmon wrote:She's entered back on turf Monday at Delaware in Race 6 (A/OC).Sparrow Castle wrote:That's what I was thinking too. He is entered tomorrow in the Koffy Diamond Stakes (G3) at Dundalk on the AW. The well-related Long Island Sound and Dilmun (War Front/Pachattack) are also in the race.mariasmon wrote:De Coronado (full to Zenyatta) won today at Dundalk.

He seems to like the AW. Maybe they ought to send him over here and see if he likes dirt.

The late Street Cry might have a strong influence on the results of that Dundalk race, whoever wins.
The favorite, War Decree, is by War Front out of a Street Cry mare; the second choice, Abington, is by Street Cry out of a Galileo mare; and De Coronado is of course by Street Cry out of Vertigineux. And he's a 16-1 longshot.
There's also third choice, Long Island Sound, who is by Galileo out of Vertigineux's daughter, Treasure Trail, making him a sort of "nephew" of De C?

The Coolmore team is always snagging top yearlings from our Keeneland sale. It would be nice if someone from the US reverses that and goes to Tattersalls to bring De C. back here to run on dirt.
I know it's a gamble, but the horse improved so much on all-weather. With a pedigree like that, wouldn't it be worth seeing if he has been a G1 dirt horse all along?
