Looks fat and sassy! Thanks.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

@Tachyon and @Sparrow Castle, thank you both for posting these pictures and links. Forty Niner looks fabulous. Such a treat to see him living a very long, happy life. Where does the time go? Sigh...

Godolphin's Fine Needle(JPN) became the fifth horse in history to claim both JRA-G1 sprint races in the same year—the first since Lord Kanaloa(JPN) in 2013, as he won the Sprinters Stakes (G1) 1200m turf at Nakayama on Sep 30th 2018.

It now looks like Forty Niner line dominates turf sprint division in Japan capturing five consecutive G1 races! 8-)
And I guess that Fine Needle will be a popular stallion when he enters stud.

2017 Takamatsunomiya Kinen(G1) winner: Seiun Kosei(JPN) 2012H. by Admire Moon(JPN)

Admire Moon(JPN) has seen a significant increase in his numbers mares covered this year.
Darley must be very happy with that.

How special.

Happy birthday to the brilliant FORTY NINER - born 34 years ago today.

What a privilege to still have him around.

Just to add some perspective: In May 1985, Reagan was the President, Jordan was the NBA Rookie of the Year, Gretzky was scoring goals for Edmonton in the Stanley Cup and John Henry was still in Ron McAnally's barn. Happy Birthday Forty Niner! @claibornefarm @WatchXBTV

It's wonderful to see the old man still hanging in, happy and reasonably healthy for his age.
