He ran 2nd on dirt last time out. It was Cozmic One who improved so much on grass in his most recent race. FWIW, there is also a full brother to Plum Pretty in the race, Thorpe D'oro, and a 1/2 brother to Silent Sighs, Liberty Park (Tapit).

nothing from DRF peeps yet, but...

More disappointing news for Ziconic fans; well beaten 3rd. Good news is he ran well, but I wonder if he'll ever see the winners' circle.

Victor kept him closer today, so at least he wasn't trying to close from Zen-type distance. But that long-shot Haynesfield colt, Ferguson, just opened up on the field and no one came close to catching him.

He certainly is a head-turner.

But I do wish they'd send Azeri to someone else.

at the risk of drawing a lot of fire, i wish a LOT of mares saw someone other than deep impact. i get that he's their tapit, but a little diversity would be great. i remember seeing a big race recently where i think half the field was by DI.

I feel the same about seeing so many Galileo babies running here in the UK.

Same here.

Azeri has yet to produce any stakes winner in Japan.
Hopefully Shirvanshah will be the one, while his full brother 4yo Leukerbad will try again in a G3 at Niigata next week.
Deep Impact must be a very consistent sire and his offspring sell extremely well at the sale.
But, needless to say, he is not always the best match for the US import mares.
I personally hope that Katsumi Yoshida (Northern Farm) will send Azeri & some other top mares to such younger stallions as Orfevre, Maurice and Duramente, even if these three Shadai-based stallions are not yet proven. (I especially look forward to Duramente (by King Kamehameha))
Azeri is already 19 years old.

Speaking of Azeri, the first foal of her most successful offspring to date, Wine Princess, has been working steadily. War Chest (War Front) is at Fair Hill, so I wonder if he will debut once the meet returns to Belmont? Lane's End purchased him at last year's September Sale and I suspect Shug is the trainer. It appears from his works that he is trying both turf and dirt, in addition to all-weather. Will be interesting to see which surface they choose for his first start/

He is in the 14:30 the Curragh, the G1 Phoenix S. undercard. Honor Code's 1/2 brother, Declarationofpeace (War Front), runs in the big race, along with stablemate U S Navy Flag (War Front x Misty for Me), a full brother to Roly Poly.
U S Navy Flag won a G3 at the Curragh today. He has made 8 starts this year.
