Dang...Coz really had a decent kick in the stretch, and he may have got up for third, with four horses within a length of each other for the first four. Was this the first time he's run on the grass? Maybe this is where he belongs.
Looks like Sonneteer finally broke his maiden...in his thirteen race. So, maybe there's hope for Coz?

egads Coz sure is a huge handsome son of a gun - gorgeous boy - he ran with more interest today - that was so nice to see - he displayed a really lovely long stride on the backstretch - I actually did think he looked a lot like his mom today when he was cruising on the backstretch - and he kept moving pretty well towards the wire - looking forward to his next on grass - and probably.... the longer the race, the better.

Huge is right. When they showed the break straight on and you watched Coz running towards you, it looked like someone had loaded a Friesian/Warmblood cross into the gate by accident. He is SOOOO broad across the chest.

Well, his next race is likely going to be at least 3 months and a dozen works from now so any momentum he gets from this will disappear.firehorse wrote:That's what I was thinking, maybe there's hope for the guy to get a few wins if he doesn't go back on the shelf for 2 more years - so completely different than his first 2 races.mariasmon wrote:Hey, he actually showed some interest today!

After 2 years and to have his head in it this time I'm hoping we see him again at Del Mar. Has anyone ever said why he had 2 years off?Miss Woodford wrote:Well, his next race is likely going to be at least 3 months and a dozen works from now so any momentum he gets from this will disappear.firehorse wrote:That's what I was thinking, maybe there's hope for the guy to get a few wins if he doesn't go back on the shelf for 2 more years - so completely different than his first 2 races.mariasmon wrote:Hey, he actually showed some interest today!

It wasn't easy but she broke her maiden in her third try.
Kitten Smitten finished 1st by a nose, on July 24, 2017, at PRESQUE ISLE DOWNS in Race 2.
Off odds: .70
Your comments for this horse were: Medaglia d'Oro - Precious Kitten, by Catienus; half to Divining Rod; Lael
(Divining Rod is back on the workout tab at Fair Hill.)

It was technically her 4th start. The first time she ran, there was a major incident and the race was declared no contest. I hope she stays sound and didn't inherit her mother's feet, unlike Divining Rod (who I wish would try turf).Sparrow Castle wrote:It wasn't easy but she broke her maiden in her third try.

It would be nice to see Divining Rod try turf this year. The boy has talent, just has to stay healthy enough to get that Grade 1 win. Guess we'll know soon.

Orb's full brother, Emancipation, was 4th in that race.Sparrow Castle wrote:David Grening @DRFGrening

Yet another Malibu Moon, Singing Bullet (o/o Life at Ten), is in the G2 Amsterdam at Saratoga on Saturday,

Mr. Hot Stuff who at this point is probably a bit too well-known in his own right to be in the siblings and offspring thread, is running in the G1 AP Smithwick Steeplechase Handicap tomorrow. He's the 156lb highweight and morning-line favorite. Still gorgeous as ever.

With his more accomplished brother, Colonel John, available, I could see why he didn't get to stay intact. And even with those accomplishments (and some pretty nice offspring), CJ still got sold overseas. To Turkey, IIRC.
