So apparently the same buyer behind Kitasan Black full brother & Gentildonna full sister - DMM.com, a gaming company? I dunno, I'm sure tachyon or uma will know more.

Dmm.com is an enterprise providing for a variety of on-line entertainments, such as DVD/CD rental, PC softwares, and AKB48 Live on demand. This time, the company announced to embark on a new type of horse club business in a few months time that sells 10,000 shares of their horses to the racing fans.

Their club is unique in that the unusual number of shares aims at reducing fans' financial risks involved in investing blood stocks; all costs－including monthly expenditures for feeding and managing a racehorse all through his entire racing career－is paid in advance, in a lump-sum, and exclusively on-line, probably using a smart phone application originally developed. For example, with Loves Only Me 2016, the full sister to Real Steel, the price of one share is said to be 'about $300~$400 in total.' Once paid at the outset, no additional charges requested (I slightly doubt it).

In my opinion, this is a horse version of AKB48 business. With AKB girls replaced by sisters and brothers of well-known horses like Gentildonna or Kitasan Black whom they bought at the Select Sale 2017, lots of fans feel united and satisfied in their support of their idol horses with the minimum costs. Financial returns, of course, will be a minor factor.

I actually love the idea of the huge syndicate being available to the casual fan. A one time buy-in of a few hundred dollars into some of the best bloodstock? Think of how much interest there could be with say a sibling to Chrome or Pharoah or a foal out of Zenyatta? They'd likely not be world beaters, but I think it would be a "fun" endeavor for the casual fan to possibly learn more about what it takes to make a racehorse.

My impression is that whether the club succeeds or not may depend on the smartphone application; if it is securely well-made so that fans can easily check how their horses are being fed and trained (workout videos, etc.) and frequent updates about the growing yearlings are provided, perhaps the new enterprise may turn out to be a huge success

because the most important thing for any owner or fans is to know the latest information on their horses on a weekly basis. Also their experiences having been accumulated in running on-line securities/FX tradings seem favorable and applicable to the new on-line horse business.

So this guy just broke his maiden on debut today... they've named him Admire Virgo. Such a shame Mr. Kondo couldn't see it.
