The start was good for all, with RUFFIAN caught off guard and last to exit the gate. CIGARSHOP and BLUNNY are leading the pack, followed by CATALINA and THUNDERCAT, and the rest of the field. RUFFIAN continues to trail throughout, and gets further separated. CIGARSHOP gradually expand his lead, but is unable to shake lose the persistent BLUNNY. Coming out of the final turn, STARK finds another gear, and accelerates for his famous closing run, but the Energizer BLUNNY has also found another gear. BLUNNY manages to hang on for the win, as the still accelerating STARK just barely manages to overtake CIGARSHOP for second place before running out of space.
