He seems to be doing rather well for a small ish crop. From 79 foals he has 22 runners and 11 winners! He also has a stakes winner and has $420,119 in progeny earnings thus far ranking him 5th on the Freshman sires list! Not bad for $6,500 I'd say
Any thoughts on him?

I normally wouldn't favor a stallion who only ran once, but apparently his retirement was caused by unexpected complications from splint surgery.

Not wonderful, since it makes me think about his dam sire's propensity for passing along soundness issues, but that one 114 Beyer run was pretty special. Clearly had a load of talent.
And clearly is passing that talent along, so I'm glad that he was given a chance at stud. Maybe breeders should get in now, before Hill 'n' Dale raises his fee.

I wonder if Cloud Computing takes after his dam, Quick Temper, physically? CC is gorgeous; MM isn't.
He may have been smokin' fast, but he's not exactly smokin' hot in the looks department.

I don't know, I've seen Maclean's Music twice at Hill 'n' Dale, once right off the track and again last year. He's definitely matured quite a bit and I actually really liked him physically, but he's not big or overly striking.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:I wonder if Cloud Computing takes after his dam, Quick Temper, physically? Didn't we see him immediately after Midnight Lute? So not fair to any other studs...BlindLucky wrote:I don't know, I've seen Maclean's Music twice at Hill 'n' Dale, once right off the track and again last year. Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

Yeah, I think they sandwiched him between Midnight Lute and Stormy Atlantic, so he seemed a little bit like a shiny ponyInsane Crazy wrote:Didn't we see him immediately after Midnight Lute? UPDATE
Maclean's Music is second on the Second Crop sires list (to Bodemeister). 48 runners, 19 winners, 4 SWs, 1,983,000. His other three SWs are ungraded. Stud fee now $8,500 ... sure to climb to double digits next year ... and he'll get much better quality broodmares.
