They said she is due mid-May.
I imagine that means she gets the year off? I know they breed to race, but that's pushing it late for TB foaling dates.
I believe she didn't actually get pregnant on her first cover to MDO so they had to send her again, perhaps that's why this foal is due so late?
Yeah, I got that part. I just can't imagine them wanting to breed her back this year and get another late foal, by TB standards.

What poor luck they've had with this mare and her produce.

I really don't think they are concerned with the "lateness" of the foals. It's really not that big of a deal, except on message boards/forums.

Blood-Horse had this article today:

http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/ ... th-gormley
Moss is planning to visit Zenyatta later in the week as she gets close to producing a foal by Medaglia d'Oro at Lane’s End Farm near Versailles, Ky. The superstar mare will likely get a year off before continuing her broodmare career.

Watch her go into labor on Derby Day and he'll have to decide between the Derby and being there for the birth.

Gormley's owners at Spendthrift looking at Malibu Moon...

Jerry and two blondes..maybe things aren't as hostile between them as it's been made out to be?

I haven't seen anything saying things are hostile between them... (?) I've only seen rumors they are separated - well that and some low commentary about an unidentified woman who could very well be a family relation (and if not, still can't figure out why anyone would care).

In a couple of those 'two blondes' photos that I have seen, I'm pretty sure the 'other' blonde is Dottie Ingordo, John Sherriff's wife. Dottie has been very involved with their racing operation, especially Zenyatta. IIRC, she ran the Zenyatta website for a while, posting as Zen. It was cute, but she finally had to step away. :D

Dottie is a real sweetheart too - a really classy, nice lady - talked to her a few times at santa anita - she is very friendly and kind - lovely lady - she has been the racing mgr for the Moss' forever - she worked for bobby frankel too - he really trusted her - john and dottie are two of the nicest people you could ever meet at the track - I will always wish them both well - and yes.... she was quite charming when she was the 'voice' of zenyatta at the zen website years ago.

Murmurings of a nasty split... who knows. May just be rumours...

Dottie is an easy lady to spot. Neither of those are her.

What wonderful news! Medaglia d'Oro has sired some fabulous fillies and I hope that this handsome little gal will become another one.

Doing a nekkid happy pagan dance!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I hope this little girl is the one who finally gives Zenny a successful stakes winning offspring. Such an adorable filly. :D
