Thanks so very much for those pictures of A. P. Indy on his 28th birthday. Happy Birthday Indy, you beautiful and beloved boy. Words can't express how happy I am that he's been able to live a long, happy life.

His sire, Seattle Slew, lived to be 28. I hope his greatest son lives longer.

Indy's maternal grandsire, Secretariat, died too young in October 1989 just six months after Indy's birth.

I was privileged to see Slew, Secretariat and Indy run, and am so grateful that their legacy lives on through Indy's sons and daughters.

Life is a continuum.

I agree that after 2015 he cooled down a lot, but I remember reading last year he was sent a pretty decent number of nice mares in 2016 - even if the almost doubling of his fee was ridiculous. I'd give it a couple more years before he gets bounced, his best crop could still be yet to come, and he is still standing for $50,000 - which is still too much in my opinion.

Well he snatched another G2-winner today in a longshot at Oaklawn so given his upcoming crop(s) he might be given more of a chance again. Plus he must be now the last major son of Maria's Mon?

On paper he didnt have a ton of G1 winners, but when he did, he sure did make it count. Two Derby/Arc doubles and the amazing Ouija Board. A real shame to hear of his passing, 23 still seems young

Churchill took the 2000 Guineas yesterday and now Winter took the fillies version just this morning.

No idea why anyone even runs up against Coolmore and their Galileos in the Classics

To be fair last year it wasn't a Galileo who won the Guineas (though Galileo was the damsire...

)
I suppose the question should be 'which Galileo will win' if there are more than one in the field...

I agree, as much as I congratulate Coolmore on their empire, I hate seeing them in big races all the time. Especially when they have 5 runners or something like that. Coolmore and Godolphin are the two major breeding and racing operations I'm really not fond of at all. I do like Juddmonte though!
