Local Hero is entered in the Risen Star Stakes tomorrow at Fairgrounds. A video of his maiden win over this same track can be found on page 89 of this thread. I read on BH that the track was favoring closers that day, but he led most of the way and won by 7 lengths.

Oh my goodness, Big John B is returning in race #2, a $75K optional claimer at Santa Anita this Thursday! He's been out over 11 months. I have wondered many times what had happened. An injury perhaps? So good to see him back! I hope he comes back strong! This will be his 41st start. He has earned $849,770. Boy would I like to see him break $1M and retire in luxury.

Nowalking was injured in the Triple Bend today. D'Amato said owners will have a difficult decision to make. Anyone hear anything further?
And Vending Machine was eased in the San Felipe! Any news on him?

ERTIJAAL (AUS) - G1 winner, 5yo horse by Hard Spun, broke down in the G1 Jebel Hatta Stakes at Meydan on 3/4/2017, and was euthanized.
There were 2 horses named ERTIJAAL, both racing in graded stakes at Meydan this year. The other ERTIJAAL is from IRE and is by Oasis Dream. ERTIJAAL(IRE) is still racing.

Found a replay of Gatting's race: He was dead last for most of the race and had to circle the field coming off the turn. Click on the right facing arrow at the end of the row on the chart and a box will pop up with the replay (yellow silks w/red cap): http://www.rwwa.com.au/cris/horse.aspx? ... 569&max=50
He is Hard Spun's 59th stakes winner.

On Sunday Big John B and Hard Aces are both entered in the Tokyo City Cup at 1 1/2 miles at Santa Anita. Big John B won the race last year before being off for nearly a year. Too bad they both can't win!

I was hoping for a 1-2 finish and they did it! I don't think Big John is quite up to speed yet, anyway. He was off for nearly a year and this was just his second race back. So glad for Hard Aces, though. He always tries hard.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:Came close...Hard Aces won and Big John B was second.
