Top CA sire Unusual Heat has been pensioned at age 26 per release. More soon @BloodHorse

He was a fabulous outcross and stallion. I wish he had attracted more mares besides the ones in the California population.

I've often wondered if his already impressive list of stakes-winning progeny would have been even better if he'd been given a well-supported home in Kentucky.
Not surprised to read this...at 26, he was likely to be pensioned soon. I hope he has a long and happy retirement, and that his Eclipse-winning son, Acclamation, can succeed him at stud.

Team Valor's hunky grade and group II winner (and close relative of Canford Cliffs) Triple Threat has retired. Very much hoping this son of Monsun stands at stud here in the States.

Good ol' Bloodhorse. I was checking to see if Triple Threat is officially listed as black...and Bloodhorse's Profile has him identified as a GELDING.

That isn't even him that they have his profile linked to. Its a US-bred with the same name that is a gelding. I've noticed they do this sometimes.

Vancouver to reverse shuttle to America
GOLDEN SLIPPER winner Vancouver will reverse shuttle from Coolmore Australia to Coolmore's US branch at Ashford Stud in Kentucky for the 2017 breeding season.

Bred by Fairway Thoroughbreds and trained by Gai Waterhouse, he is out of the Listed-placed Danehill mare Skates and is a half-brother to the Grade 1-winning sprinter Juste Moment.

Vancouver transferred to the care of Aidan O'Brien for the 2016 season but failed to make the track before being retired to stud.

Ashford is going to have some interesting stallions in 2017. I wonder how they'll be received by breeders (I'm guessing wellish).

We knew he couldn't go on forever, but it still makes me very sad...one of my all-time favorites. RIP ol' boy, a job well-done.

Very sad. My heart is breaking for his groom, Steve Clark. The bond and the love just radiates from him in the video and the pictures. It has to be a really really hard time right now.

Indeed, we knew the day was coming - but what a wonderful life he had, and what a tremendous legacy he leaves. One of my favorites too.
Condolences to all associated with Quiet American. Thanks for the memories old boy, and Rest Easy...

IIRC Steve was with Quiet American since he retired to stud in 1992. Yes, this has to be especially hard for him. I think it's a big loss for everyone at the farm. For many years I've heard the stories about how he was quite the character and very special.
