I guess you've never read some of the MMA forums out there.

No, but my boyfriend is a Jets fan and so are all of his friends. Not even they're that dumb.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:Racing really has the dumbest fans out of any sport.

Animals really bring out the best and worst in people.

I think you'd be dead in less than 30 minutes, as long as you add in Ferdinand and Exceller comments.BlindLucky wrote:A previous post mentioned this already, but I think the only people who cared/complained are the "OMG we send all our good horses to Japan, they need to stay here where they belong, where they're safe, and have pretty babies, because Japan is mean!" crowd.Horsebagger wrote:Creator wasn't any good, so why would anybody complain about not being able to breed to him? If you took a shot of bourbon every time you read "greedy owners" in those sort of complaints, you'd have alcohol poisoning pretty quick

Kind of surprised WinStar sold a stallion before they gave it a few years in Kentucky themselves. Though, like others have said, I was never really taken with the horse.
He'll definitely get some good numbers in his first 2/3 years in Japan, then numbers for the imports, especially the non-Shadai ones, tend to slump if they haven't hit it big by then. Regardless, he will be well taken care of, despite what the loons in the comments have to say

I agree 100% with you!!!BaroqueAgain1 wrote:Considering how good Dubawi is proving to be, Japan has really scored by acquiring Makfi, IMO.
Makfi himself is a proven sire, too.
And I'm 120% sure that Japanese breeders will be enthusiastic about this new import.

Creator will be less popular than Makfi in his debut at stud in Japan.Northport wrote:He'll definitely get some good numbers in his first 2/3 years in Japan, then numbers for the imports, especially the non-Shadai ones, tend to slump if they haven't hit it big by then.
But I think that he will get good interests from Japanese breeders as a rare son of the great Tapit in Japan.
So let's hope his early offsrping will do well.
And, as always, JBBA is a wonderful place for any stallions standing there.

I have to wonder if perhaps they bought him to bring in some more dirt lines to maybe try for the Kentucky Derby point races that were set up in Japan. Especially since Lani showed that Tapit/Sunday Silence is a worthwhile cross to try.tachyon wrote:Creator will be less popular than Makfi in his debut at stud in Japan.Northport wrote:He'll definitely get some good numbers in his first 2/3 years in Japan, then numbers for the imports, especially the non-Shadai ones, tend to slump if they haven't hit it big by then.

I felt that the Japanese may have taken steps toward stocking those point races at the recent Keeneland yearling sale, because it seemed like there were more colts with dirt pedigrees being bought by Japanese buyers than filly broodmare prospects.

We saw a Street Sense colt winning in his debut two weeks ago at Hanshin 1400m dirt Newcomer.
Immediately after the race, his trainer mentioned the Kentucky Derby for his goal.
It was obvious that Lani's adventure in this year's TC and the new Kentucky Derby point races in Japan were in that trainer's mind.
That Street Sense colt was :

That makes sense for the meantime. It also makes sense to buy dirt stallions to try and produce their own for the years down the road.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:I felt that the Japanese may have taken steps toward stocking those point races at the recent Keeneland yearling sale, because it seemed like there were more colts with dirt pedigrees being bought by Japanese buyers than filly broodmare prospects.

He looked impressive. His pedigree is really nice. I hope he continues to do well.tachyon wrote:I think you are right.Flanders wrote: I have to wonder if perhaps they bought him to bring in some more dirt lines to maybe try for the Kentucky Derby point races that were set up in Japan. Gemologist is looking good! His daughter Yellow Agate just became his first Stakes/Graded Stakes/G1 winner, improving her record to 2 for 2.

Logic says - he wasn't going to finish in the top 5 in the Classic *unless* it monsooned.
He's not a very big, strong-looking horse, and I don't picture him improving with age. Like Nyquist I think all of his big races are behind him.
Makes sense. He should be around $25,000.
