Is there enough information about how Tapit is doing as a broodmare sire? I know that the Japanese bought some of Tapit's early star fillies, like Stardom Bound. How have the offspring of those mares been doing in Japan?

Nothing is more annoying than dishonest people using God to cover their dishonesty. Whether you believe in God or not, only an idiot believes God micromanages the world. If that was the case, then God wanted all the evil people to have all the nice things they acquired through crime, war, etc.

My guess is that she brought the colt there to try to find a partner to race him or she just likes the attention.

I'm leaning towards the 'vanity' play, myself. She goes to the sales and buys the top hips and loves the attention.

Could be a runner. I like the Speightown's, they can run any distance and on any surface.

Probably wanted a partner and wants the attention. It isn't a big deal either way but nobody believes they set the RNA at 1.9M but meant 1.19M. Who sets and RNA at a random 1.19M? Then she has someone at Timber Town lie for her about it, and then she says God wanted her to keep the horse. The whole thing is odd. She clearly never had any intention of selling him.

Thanks for the info...is that good? Sorry, but I'm not informed enough to put those stats in perspective...although 27% winners seems decent.

Since he appeared to have a head and four legs, I suspect an RNA.
That was a good one! Made me chuckle.

He is just starting as a broodmare sire. In my opinion, you can't analyze that kind of data for years. The numbers just aren't there, I would guess the oldest foal is 5, most are probably 2. Stardom Bound was bred at 4, her first foal was born in 2011. Her 2nd foal is his highest earner as a broodmare sire, King Kanunu(JPN).

You realize that if the RNA is at $1.19 mil, it isn't actually that random, right? It means that the bid that buys the horse is $1.2 mil not $1.19 mil. I'm not getting into the actual Mandy Pope situation but you're really focused on the $1.19 number when it's actually not all that uncommon to have a "random" number like that as a reserve (be it $999,000 or what have you). Stephanie's Kitten's reserve was $2,999,000 because Ramsey wanted $3 million for her.

RNA stands for Reserve Not Attained, meaning any bid EQUAL or in excess gets the horse. If the RNA is 1.19M, then a 1.19M bid gets the horse. The reserve is attained means exactly what it says. If you were correct why did they set it at 1.9M instead of 1.89M? It is hard to believe they made a $700K mistake in setting the reserve on a War Front out of a HOY. It is very obvious she had no intention of selling all of him. I had no problem with it until Timber Town starting spinning how honest they are and then Pope later commented on how God wanted her to keep the horse. All they had to do was say they put him in the sale with a high reserve and it is their right to do so.

The problem I have with people doing this is supposed you passed on earlier horses in the sale with the intent of spending your money on this one. You basically were bidding on a horse someone had no intention of selling.

In this case, they were telling the people the reserve they set so I do think at least on Mandy's end it was a mistake. I saw her after the horse RNAed, she was not happy that it had happened. She had thought the horse was sold.

But I also have major problems with people attacking/making fun of someone for their faith (and I'm the opposite of religious) just because she made a comment that was basically "things happen for a reason" so I should probably step away now.

Hence my "making fun of" part of said comment.

She was called an idiot for her beliefs. That's crossing the line to me. (And, yes, I know someone is going to say "Well, look who said it" or some variation of that but I had to speak up because that line in his post rubbed me wrong.)
