STARK hoping to rebound from the dismal performance last week, his jockey and trainer both insist he's the fastest horse in America, the hall of famers gary stevens

In lucky post #7 we find the speedster
CRIMINAL TYPE who will be trying to stretch his 1/4horse speed around two turns and to help him do that will be mikey smith
and a real stamina test for trainer steve asmussen
In post position #8 is
TIGER DANCER ridden today by chantal sutherland
while janet elliott
gives her a leg up.
Rounding out the field breaking from the far outside #9 post is

They're all in, standing quietly, and there they go

CRIMINAL TYPE and mike smith
burst out of the gates and quickly open up on the rest of the field, the question is will he have anything left for the stretch drive?
The first to bust out of the pack and chase after the leader is
DUSTY as emma-jane wilson
is going to the whip early and often on the far turn.
Heading into the stretch they're all bunched up except for
CRIMINAL TYPE who is already dropping out of it. Anybody can win as
RAVEN and
TIGER DANCER and
STARK all have a shot.
Kent
is throwing crosses at
RAVEN
and is almost assured of hitting the board if he doesn't stand up too early.

is doing everything she can to get
RUFFIAN to switch leads to no avail.

looks a little prego as she's trying to get
CATALINA involved.

At the wire there's really not much separating them all, about 5 lengths from front to back.
