I agree, I actually think several of the youngsters in that race are worth keeping an eye on.Starine wrote:American Cleopatra ran well, but I was also impressed with runner-up Union Strike. I think we'll hear more from her and she has the pedigree to suggest she will get better with age. Connections are very high on her.

Brooklyn Bobby (Frankel x Balance), the first Frankel to run here in the US, just finished off the board in the 1st at Saratoga. He looked really green, costing himself some ground by ducking in or not keeping his path. He was running on well at the end, so I think he'll improve off this race.
Unlike most of the Frankel's Ive seen, he doesn't really look like the Galileo side of his family. He's tall and really dark (almost black), so it seems like he's taking after his mom's side of his family. The Kris S. is showing.

Off the board. When the gates opened, he just stood there and gave the field a head start.mariasmon wrote:Brooklyn Bobby (Frankel/Balance) debuts Saturday at Saratoga in R1. Also in the race is Ticonderoga (Tapit/Keertana), but he is on the AE list.

Never So Few (Galileo /Rags to Riches) just ran in Saratoga race 5.
No wonder he was 30-1. He looks like a nice horse for an alternate discipline!

Maybe Never So Few should try eventing.
The Olympic Three-Day-Event dressage portion is going on over on USA at this time, and the first ride they showed was Boyd Martin's ride on his TB (Blackfoot Mystery, IIRC). Not wonderful, especially compared to the gorgeous Hanoverian dressage specialist who came next. But it's still wonderful that this OTTB is competing at the highest level of the sport, especially since he hasn't been training in dressage for very long.
Looking forward to watching the 17.2-hand gelding show his stuff on the cross-country.
