Claiborne and Dilschneider have a promising looking War Front filly. Won a 2yo MdSpWt on the grass at Belmont yesterday. War Front - Quiet Now, by Tiznow. Fantastic pedigree, and she ran em off her feet. 6f in 1:08 and change

Ah...I did see that race, and she was pretty impressive. Thanks.

Bitumen (Mineshaft - Kobla Cat, by Tale of the Cat) just took the Sanford S.(G3) at Saratoga. He is a half-brother to SW/G3Sp Meshell. His dam is a half-sister to Quality Road.

Admire Winner(JPN), 2014C. Workforce(GB) x Song Bird(JPN)(1/2 to G1 winner Blumenblatt), won in his debut brilliantly at Hakodate 5R 1800m turf Newcomer on July 24th 2016.
Obviously, his dam Song Bird(JPN) is a completely different horse from the mighty Songbird(USA). ;)

I agree...she was quite impressive! Visited Belmont on my recent trip and was happy to be there to see this race. Here's a picture I took of her heading to the winner's circle.

American Pharoah's full sister, American Cleopatra, just worked a half-mile like a filly just about set for her debut. Has progressed nicely

Too bad she has to carry the weight of expectations as well as the jockey. ;)
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

 good one
Although speaking for myself I have no expectations... just curiosity. I'm of the skeptical variety and even though "lightning doesn't strike twice" is a fallacy, for idiom's sake I'll use it to add to my skepticism. I'm also not naive about breeding, performance etc. So she could flop and I would be unfazed. On the other hand I am curious for a few different factors/reasons, some Pharoah related, some not ;)

It does seem that she's had some nice works, DMTC showed the one today as a 3F breeze. I'm going to Del Mar Sunday, wonder if she might enter. But can't help but enjoy a day at the Spa west. :)

California Chrome's full sister, R Sunday Surprise, runs in a virtually identical MSW to American Cleopatra's, Saturday at DMR, R6. She was 3rd last time, in her debut.

Ten Blessings (Smart Strike x Indian Blessing), who disappeared after an impressive debut win at SA, has been working steadily (and quickly) at Los Al for several weeks. Bullet 5F today.

Also making her debut in the race is Union Strike, a half-sister to grade II winner Handsome Mike by Union Rags.
Owner Mick Ruis said Union Strike has been the most forward of the approximately 15 2-year-olds he has at Del Mar this summer. On July 24, the Ruis-owned Midnight Pleasure won a maiden race for 2-year-olds. Union Strike outworked Midnight Pleasure earlier this summer, Mick Ruis said.

“She left him standing still,” Ruis said. “We think she’s super precious.”
