Never So Few (Galileo x Rags to Riches) is in at Belmont on Friday, Race 1 (MSW 1 mile on turf). He has a new owner (Nick Manifold, I think that's the polo guy) and new trainer (John Hertler).

Doesn't bode well for this colt's chances if Coolmore was willing to let him go. With a pedigree like that, if he had half an ounce of talent, IMHO they would have hung on to him.

He's slow. He's the one that Pletcher, when asked about his debut, said something like, "Um, yeah... he's just here for the experience."BaroqueAgain1 wrote:Doesn't bode well for this colt's chances if Coolmore was willing to let him go. Rouge Buck(JPN), 2012F. Manhattan Cafe(JPN) x Ginger Punch(USA), has finally come back to winner's circle.
She won impressively in the G3 Epsom Cup 1800m turf at Tokyo on June 19th 2016, beating the boys, overcoming her widest draw.
I'm sure that she will return to the G1 company in Autumn.

Coolmore have sold much nicer horses than Never So Few, particularly horses that have already won G1s or are even better bred than Never So Few. If they dont see the horse possibly being a sire of the highest calibre, it won't be with them for too terribly long, whether or not it is in training or has already stood a few seasons at Coolmore.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:Doesn't bode well for this colt's chances if Coolmore was willing to let him go. Not surprising. I mean, how many sons of Galileo can one farm stand?
If you can sell the bottom 95% to other breeders, you can probably fund your operation for years.

AP's little sister had her first official work this morning.

Sounds as though Baffert likes what he sees, although I'm not sure he'd say anything else at this point.

Pletcher Juveniles Saratoga Bound
http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/pl ... oga-bound/Pletcher said that Lets Go Stable and Three Chimneys Farm’s Made You Look (More Than Ready) will likely target the GII With Anticipation S. at Saratoga Aug. 31 after annexing a six-panel maiden dash at Belmont Saturday. The colt–whose second dam is 1995 champion 3-year-old filly Serena’s Song (Rahy)–previously finished a clear second behind ‘TDN Rising Star’ Red Lodge (Midshipman) in his five-furlong debut at Belmont May 27.
“We might wait all the way until the With Anticipation with him, we’ll just play it by ear,” Pletcher explained. “He’s a strongly bred horse with a big bottom side, and like a lot of More Than Readies, he seems to excel on the turf.”

Nice! I often wonder if Serena would have taken to the turf as well as the main. Looking forward to seeing this one again.Sparrow Castle wrote:Pletcher Juveniles Saratoga Boundhttp://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/pl ... oga-bound/Pletcher said that Lets Go Stable and Three Chimneys Farm’s Made You Look (More Than Ready) will likely target the GII With Anticipation S. at Saratoga Aug. 31 after annexing a six-panel maiden dash at Belmont Saturday.
