SO MI DAR (GB), f, 3, Dubawi (Ire)–Dar Re Mi (GB)
Having warmed up for this time-honoured Oaks trial with a defeat of the subsequent listed winners Humphrey Bogart (Ire) (Tagula {Ire}) and Viren’s Army (Twirling Candy) in Epsom’s Investec Derby Trial over 10 furlongs Apr. 20, So Mi Dar kept to the script to justify 4-5 favouritism and pose a threat to Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the June 3 G1 Epsom Oaks.

HUGE BLOW FOR JOHN GOSDEN AS SO MI DAR RULED OUT OF INVESTEC OAKS
"She came out of the race great, but this morning she was lame on her left hind.

"I told Andrew and Madeleine (Lloyd-Webber, owners) and got the vet in and she is not right.

"We would call it a one-to-two out of five to grade it.

"She may well come right in 10 days, but you cannot go to any major race thinking you can walk for 10 days and suddenly be ready.

"The horse comes first and luckily I'm training for proper owner-breeders who understand the game.

"I'm afraid she's a non runner. It's a real disappointment.

"She's a gorgeous filly, she won in great style and we were all looking forward to the Oaks.

"But it's not a little bruise in the foot - it's a little higher up and it's just going to take a little time to come right.

"I'm sure she'll probably be back for the Irish Oaks, but sadly, not Epsom.

Midterm also came up lame after his disappointing 5th place in his Derby prep but they're still hopeful that he'll heal in time for the race.

Dialed In's first starter, Maximum Edge, was a winner today at Churchill Downs. Her dam, Champagne Sparkle, is a half sister to grade I winner and millionaire Majestic Harbor and a full sister to grade I winner and sire Danza.

Tanino Urban Sea (Sea The Stars x Vodka) broke his maiden at Kyoto today quite impressively. Looked like dad, once he hit the front he just kind of went 'job done' but still held them at bay easily. This is the first winner for Vodka.

Tapit Together finished third; the other Matz, Queen Caroline, won.
ETA: Truly Together won and looked really good. 'Stakes next' seemed to be the assessment from the TVG guys.

Great race! Who was the rider, tachyon, and the distance? It seemed longish?

Jet Setting scores 9-1 upset in Irish 1000 Guineas
Jet Setting, a filly purchased for approximately $17,400 last fall, won Sunday’s $336,300 Irish 1000 Guineas over 4-11 favorite Minding at The Curragh. The win gave trainer Adrian Keatley his first Group 1 win in his third year of training.

Ridden by Shane Foley, Jet Setting (9-1) finished a head in front of Minding, who struck her head on the starting gate before the start, trainer Aidan O’Brien said. Jet Setting was always near the front in the one-mile turf race and held off a sustained threat from Minding, the winner of the English 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 1.

Promote (Blame), who's a grandson of Inside Information, just had a nice-looking debut win at Belmont. Well-regarded Numbered (Bernardini/Seventh Street) never really got involved and finished 7th of 7. He's a full brother to Marking.
