Stay Thirsty has his first starter on Thursday... in a stakes and what a cracker this colt looks to be.
Thirstforlife - Stay Thirsty x Promenade Girl (so he's more than a half to the nice mare Cavorting (who's by Bernardini))

I LOVED Stay Thirsty - I'm so excited for his first foal. I wish he had a better post and was in a MSW, but........man I want him to win!bare it all wrote:Stay Thirsty has his first starter on Thursday... in a stakes and what a cracker this colt looks to be.

Msw or stakes, I don't think it matters much when they're 2yos in May. They're all unknowns right now.Slewfan2 wrote:I LOVED Stay Thirsty - I'm so excited for his first foal. Hey Mike (1/2 to G1 winner Nickname) was 2nd in the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes and after walking out of the gate, ThirstforLife (1/2 to Cavorting) closed nicely to get 3rd (almost 2nd!). The winner was Silvertoni, who is a granddaughter to G1 winner Easy Now (who is also a half sister to Easy Goer).

Apparently Thirstforlife broke very slowly....... I'm seeing a lot of praise for him on TwitterCoronadosQuest wrote:Hey Mike (1/2 to G1 winner Nickname) was 2nd in the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes and after walking out of the gate, ThirstforLife (1/2 to Cavorting) closed nicely to get 3rd (almost 2nd!). Gave the field about an 8 length head start. Very impressive if he learns to break.Slewfan2 wrote:Apparently Thirstforlife broke very slowly....... Wow, 8 lengths? Whew...... I'm not sure if he's a closing sprinter - probably based on his dam side pedigree - but I'm so glad that Stay Thirsty is off to a promising start. He was a really good racehorse and I have high hopes for him (and he's been pretty overlooked as a freshman sire, so I'd love for him to surprise people)bare it all wrote:Gave the field about an 8 length head start. Proconsul, Frankel's 3yo brother, finished 8th in his debut today at Chantilly. Andre Fabre said he was in "desperate" need of experience, so maybe the light bulb will go on next time.

Smart Odin(JPN), 2013C. Danon Chantilly(JPN) x Lady Upstage(IRE), scored his 3rd graded wins impressively in the G2 Kyoto Shimbun Hai 2200m turf at Kyoto on May 7th 2016. He is going to be a major contender for the Japanese Derby.
Leukerbad(JPN), Deep Impact(JPN) x Azeri(USA), ran well to finish 3rd.
He will miss the Derby, but he could be a late-bloomer like his dam.

The winner Wings of Desire, is by Pivotal and is a half brother to Grade 1 winner Eagle Top. He is trained by John Gosden and was ridden by Frankie Dettori, same trainer/jockey combination as last year's Dante/Derby winner Golden Horn.
http://www.racingpost.com/news/live.sd? ... category=0Gosden said: "He's freakish. He was showing me things early on [last year] that made me think 'goodness'.
"He's still learning. I confess this horse never did a piece of half speed [work] until the middle of March. His two favourite activities are eating and sleeping."
He added: "I took him out of the Derby in March and my plan was the King Edward VII at Ascot which his brother won, but my plan has changed. All being well he'll go to Epsom and we'll take him there to have a feel of the hill [at the Breakfast with the Stars] as he's still a baby."

Damn Lucas. Take Charge Tapit is going to buck his shins in the post parade. No way should that 2 year old be running this early with those front legs.
Let's all hope he comes home safe.

You'd think people would at least know how to spell his na,e right if they're going to criticize everything he does.Northport wrote:I mean... he hasn't even been entered in a race yet, has he?Lord Helpus wrote:Damn Lucas. Would love to see Rouge Buck win, but Meisho Mambo has been in quite the slump lately - to be honest I'm a bit surprised she is still in training - and seeing her hit the board wouldn't be too bad either
