The filly will be the third generation of her family to join the broodmare band at Roundhill as her granddam Princess Serena, who is due to give birth to a Shamardal foal, is one of the jewels in the Donworths' treasure trove.

The 17-year-old, who is out of a sister to US champion Serena's Song, has already produced Puissance De Lune to the Darley sire. Puissance De Lune has been retired to Swettenham Stud in Australia after a successful racing career there which saw him win multiple times at Group 2 level and finish placed in five Group 1s.

Shamardal is by Giant's Causeway and the Donworths are looking at a different way of mixing the Iron Horse's genes with those of Princess Serena. After foaling the sibling to Puissance De Lune, the daughter of Unbridled's Song will visit Coolmore new boy Gleneagles. By Galileo out of a sister to Giant's Causeway, Gleneagles has got his first mares in foal and the Donworths are hoping he can prove as successful with the family of Serena's Song as his close relation has.

"Princess Serena has a two-year-old sister to Puissance De Lune who we retained and called Princess De Lune. She is in pre-training at the moment and will go to Roger Charlton, but there's no rush with her," Honora said.

The Donworths' admiration for ten-time Grade 1 winner and Hall of Fame inductee Serena's Song has grown with the success her relatives have provided for Roundhill, and they managed to secure Pure Symmetry, a daughter of the American champion, for $230,000 at Keeneland last year.

"Pure Symmetry's a sister to Coronation Stakes winner Sophisticat. She's in foal to Iffraaj and will visit Lope De Vega."
