I had a dream that she foaled early this morning. I tried to guess by the photos they provided (which is kinda hard) and I thought she wouldnt hold past yesterday.

since i already felt stupid earlier this season, i guess it won't hurt to do it again.

i'm getting kind of worried about the foal being too big and complications arising.

I'm worried too, but mostly that they're not saying anything because something might have gone wrong? But then again, she's America's darling so if anything happened, someone would definitely pick up on it and post it on Twitter.

I highly doubt there's anything for anyone to worry about, mares gestation is very flexible, anywhere from 320 to 365 days

And its not like she's a tiny mare with a big foal.

Still, it's always nervous time for both humans and horses. Be glad when we get to see photos of the skinny wet little thing touching noses with Mom.

that part doesn't worry me. the potential size of the foal does. but a good point was raised in that she herself is pretty tankish. i'm a worrier but trust me, it isn't on purpose!

Mikio Matsunaga (ex-jockey of Heavenly Romance, trainer of Lani) visited them recently in Kentucky and took this photo.

Nice looking foal! Awesome Again is getting up there so hopefully he has one or two potential stars that are currently 2 y/os/yearlings/foals, and even better if it is one that is as well bred at the Heavenly Romance one

Maybe if Lani performs at least half-decently in the Derby or in North America in general, Awesome Again X Heavenly Romance will stay in the US. Wishful thinking, haha. Though I do think it is cool that a Japanese breeder sent a mare as nice as Heavenly Romance to the US to be bred.

Lani and his siblings liked the dirt better despite the fact that Heavely Romance was a turf mare.
(and Heavely Romance's 4th foal Awardee(USA) is even by a turf sire Jungle Pocket! )
And his owner Koji Maeda raced Sunday Break(JPN) with Neil Drysdale in the US before.
So....

I hope that this siblings will be trained by North American based trainers, too.

I don't believe this has been posted yet. I did a search for Exotic Bloom and though there is a post from January saying she had a foal by Fed Biz, that definitely wasn't her.
