Whaaaat a cutie. Love his stripe.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

and from Kentucky CJ--http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sp ... /82889588/On the track, Zenyatta always left things to the last possible second, causing her adoring fans to sweat bullets as she made up ground in the stretch. Just when you thought all was lost, the popular mare would kick it into another gear just in time to grab the win. Now in her second career as a broodmare, Queen Z has not lost her flair for the dramatic.
The HRN story reports the mare and foal are doing well. Now that he is here, was he overdue?Champion racehorse Zenyatta successfully delivered her fourth foal Monday at Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky. It's another colt, her connections reported, this one by War Front.
The horse appears to be a dark bay color with a white blaze across his face. Yes, he looks just like Mom.

I thought Coz was the cutest newborn ever, then Ziconic, then ZPrincess, and now. . . Glad to read the early reports that both Mom and Baby are fine, looking forward to seeing more photos.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Post just went up on her blog. Apparently, there was an issue of meconium staining and they are at the clinic.

Still sounds like they are doing fine and there are more pictures!
Congrats Z and team!

I wondered if there might be an issue, given the delay in posting details. Sure hope all goes well for the little guy.

It's been my experience it's usually a sure sign mom went way over her due date. Can be serious, with severe breathing problems, if the lungs become swollen. Sounds like they are doing all the right things and he should be fine. May take a little while for him to catch up to the other foals his age though.

He looks a lot like Z Princess, too. I'm glad they got a colt this time, even if that makes three boys. I wouldn't have felt that way about a filly by any other sire; it's odd, I know, but. *shrug*
Anyway he is a lovely colt and I hope they are both back home quickly. <3
