"...all they've really done is colored in the background..."
Putting a color filter on the background requires outlining the horse so it doesn't change color. That means that the horse's shape is at the mercy of whomever is doing the outlining. And that bright green background is pretty garish.
It's an ugly photo.

Well perhaps this person is skilled at editing photos, just not ones of horses. If you haven't been around horses long enough, I bet it's hard to edit a picture of one.Kelly Ann wrote:No kidding.
You'd think with the amount of money at their disposal they could actually hire someone with a smidge of talent to create their promotional shots for their stallions. I never have understood some of the big name farms using preschool level talent.

Was about to comment on how he looks like a gorgeous, polish Arabian sporthorse, aka my personal dreamboat. Let me just sit here for a moment and swoon.Starine wrote:Thanks for sharing your photos. Normandy Invasion is a very handsome boy. The Lumber Guy reminds me of an Arabian. And Frost Giant looks so much like his dad.

Standing at the same farm as Win Willy is the far less accomplished, but much fancier pedigreed, Bold Legacy. He is the 2000 model by Seattle Slew o/o Cara Rafaela. He was bred by Stud TNT before they sold the mare to Darley, and raced by John Oxley.

Ouch, Bold Legacy was a $1.35m yearling and a $37k stallion prospect.mariasmon wrote:Standing at the same farm as Win Willy is the far less accomplished, but much fancier pedigreed, Bold Legacy. They also stand Bacara (Storm Cat x Spain). He was a $500k maiden

I almost feel like I'm looking at a horse with club feet? Something just not quite right that my eye is drawn to.

I know its not a new picture but does anyone else think Trappe Shot looks weird in his conformation picture? I mean like his head/neck is too little for his ginormous body? Is he just super fat or is it just the photo? Flatter is the same way with a huge body and an unattractive head. Has anyone seen them in person?

Gorgeous new conformation shot of California Chrome courtesy of Taylor Made Stallions and Laura Donnell http://www.thechampisback.com/photo-gallery.html
Chrome is still so much nicer than I expect him to be. That left front looks off though. I don't remember that.

Maybe because they did not intend for it to be an 'official' conformation shot, but more of a 'look how shiny and happy he is' photo?
And they took it while he's standing fetlock deep in grass because he's quieter standing in grass?

He is taller than he appears here but he is long in back.Izvestia wrote:They are shooting below him making his legs look short, and he looks quite long (back, neck), but it might be the angle. I do remember he turns out in front.
He's quite striking though.
