The liar has been in trouble before. She looks like a psycho. I think the story and her name should be plastered all over the place, if possible.

Spreading the word seems to be about the only option just now. If it keeps one potential victim from falling into her claws, it'll have been well worth it.

I passed it along on FB- to a OTTB group that has many contacts- they buy, sell, give advice, and keep a look out for. It's getting out there.

Update from Jenny Earhart on Wide Eyed Wanderer, the mare with several screws in her jaw:

After careful consideration by both the vet and surgeon upon reviewing X-Rays, it has been decided that Wide Eyed Wanderer will have one screw removed at a time, at intervals of several weeks. Both the vet & surgeon agree this was an "amateur" (backyard) job to attempt to fix a fractured jaw and want to ensure more damage is not done by removing them. Please keep this sweet old girl in your prayers that all goes well!

Hope that this will work as planned. Poor baby, she must have been in excruciating pain. Curiosity's sake, what would cause a broken jaw in a broodmare? Getting kicked?

Re AHR facebook: I wish somebody would pull that 3 year old Andalusian/TB cross gelding from the feedlot before he ships. This one really worries me. That there is someone who "might take him for retraining" if anything just hampers his chances, with everybody else apparently just stepping back.

Well, the woman didn't take him, supposedly "unsound" and turns out she wouldn't have been a good adopter anyway (details on FB link above). And so, now I am back to hoping he does find someone who wants him other than the meat man. No idea what is wrong with him, but looks like the woman was looking for a horse that could be flipped quickly. So, hope he finds someone who will rehabilitate him and give him time to heal from whatever.

Legs supposedly look clean, but the one woman who looked at him (supposedly a horse dealer wanting a quickly flippable horse) claimed that he wasn't sound and so she wasn't interested after all.

This approximately 3-year-old Andalusian/Thoroughbred cross gelding ended up on the lot after being dropped off by Mexican charro types. This horse acts very fearful at first, as if he has been manhandled a great deal, but comes around very quickly. Unknown if broke. Legs appear clean. 15 hh range. Owner wants $275.

Just saw the update on AHR - the Andalusian/TB cross will be pulled from the feedlot tomorrow and will go to his forever home. Wonderful news, at long last.

I happened to look at their website today and for whatever reason, it seems largely out of date, not well maintained. That would likely have cost them donations, though I doubt those donations would have amounted to enough to make a major difference. Still, in the rescue business, every little bit counts.

AHR pulled a 9yo mare named Sierra Madam at an auction today. 60 starts, no wins; last ran at GGF in April.

Also on the lot, a 7yo gelding, no wins in 23 starts, named Untouchable Todd. Not sure yet if AHR got him.
