Apache Cat lookalike Miss Vista turns heads in stunning Ballarat win
Miss Vista as a foal:

A future cult horse may have been unearthed at Ballarat on Tuesday, with debutant Miss Vista turning heads with both her striking looks and a scorching victory.
The three-year-old's unique appearance - featuring a distinct bald face and four white socks - drew comparisons with champion sprinter Apache Cat and her five-length romp suggested she could be destined for bright a future of her own.
Backed from $21 into $7.40, the George Osborne-trained speedster showed electric gate speed and more than justified the market support as she obliterated her rivals in the 1000m maiden.

I love splash whites, they always look like they've been playing in a paint bucket.

Buchiko is slated to run next in the Marine Cup (Jpn3 = Listed) 1600m dirt for 3&up f&m at Funabashi on April 13th.lurkey mclurker wrote:https://twitter.com/Hochi_horse_en/stat ... 3749581824HochiJP horse racing @Hochi_horse_en
Buchiko won the Kazusa stakes at Nakayama easily under Christophe Lemaire. 4th wins. Move up into open class of JRA.
Will she become the second white-thoroughbred-black-type-winner in history following Yukichan?
Lemaire will retain the mount.

Looks like poor Buchiko injured her eye/s in the Marine... @nabecci for the RT, please forgive the terrible bing translation:
https://twitter.com/nabecci/status/720380737992536064Busko became a race exclusion (upper right eyelid bruise) in the marine C yesterday.
I have become a painful sight. On the right eye so sewed the 4 needles.
And, on top of the left eye scratches.
Will is to heal the wounds in the stables for a while.

Poor girl. Injuries like that make me wonder if she thrashed around in the starting gate, striking her head against metal struts.

I can't help but look at all that pink skin on her muzzle and her pink eyes, and think, 'that horse will never be able to spend the day outside in a pasture, especially on a sunny day.'

Wow, she just put her head down and pushed her way through. Hopefully her eye heals up quickly...

Well that seems to be a good indication about her racing spirit! Wishing her a swift recovery, and a little more common sense in the future

We got a lot of comments asking if the foal was related to one of Japan's most important sires with similar markings, Northern Taste. This filly is by Orfevre, who does have Northern Taste in his pedigree(4x3).

Buchiko has such a pretty face (when she hasn't banged it up )... I wonder if the Orfevre filly will inherit her sire's Barbie mane & tail?
