Raison d'Etat's retirement was never officially announced, I guess?

good to see that only 6 of the 7 are overpriced this year. I was assuming that the small books their stallions got this year may have been an indicator about their fees. The unlisted Hightail covered the same amount of mares as Lentenor in 2013 (6)... that may have been a bit of an sign about Lentenor's popularity.

Who the heck is snappy Halo??

I was a little surprised Lentenor didn't book a bit better. I mean, I wasn't expecting him to get 75 mares (or even 50), but maybe 25 or 30? Are his credentials that much worse than those of Bullet Train? Perhaps in that Bullet Train is by a proven sire of sires and Lentenor's sire is not a sire of sires (although the opportunities have been much more limited). Lentenor also didn't have the marketing campaign that Bullet Train did.

Probably for the best. None of the stallions there cover a lot of mares, but I bet he sees more than he did in KY.

We cannot question the greater powers at work when it comes to calumet's fees. My guess is they use a ouija board, or perhaps draw numbers from a hat

I presume Raison d'Etat is being priced that way due to his breeding, more than his race record. By A.P. Indy out of the great mare, Sightseek, he sports a pretty impressive pedigree, and I also seem to remember that he's a fine-looking horse.

That fee is absurd.

Raison d'Etat might get 25 mares if he was in Indiana for $2000 LF. It seems many farms have gone from the usual twice as much to triple what the stud fee should be. I guess breeding race horses is very profitable, almost a sure thing.

For anyone planning on doing research it appears that Snappy Halo's name is actually spelled Snapy Halo.

Stallion Register lists Stay Gold as no longer at Big Red...instead he's listed as standing at Breeder's Stallion Station in Hokkaido for a fee that's TBA...I wanted to say I read awhile ago about him relocating and was kind of surprised when I read it,but wasn't sure

Isn't he the stallion who is owned by two farms? He stands at one farm for two years then goes to the other for two years.

At Haras de Bonneval in France:
