Look at that face! Looks like he was a $375k yearling for Starlight that went to Pletcher, nice that they got him gelded and into the pipeline for a new job.Izvestia wrote:Another total cutie with a beautiful pedigree - Monopolist

I visit the New Vocations website at least three times a week, checking for updates. I'm taken with so many of these horses.
I still have my eye on Harvey, their current Curlin kid, though. UGH. I wish I was in a position to adopt him. I'm head over heels.

Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

I fall in love once a week with them. I really like Scotland (love chestnuts!) and Raffie's Majesty (love warriors!). I've got one OTTB, and that's all I can afford while in Grad school, but once I am working... I'll get anotherInsane Crazy wrote:I visit the New Vocations website at least three times a week, checking for updates. I'm taken with so many of these horses.

Honorable Discharge: Two Military Horses Retired from Arlington National duty. According to this article from the Paulick Report two caisson horses are being retired and up for adoption. One is a Standardbred that is a little high strung. The other a QH with navicular. Anyone interested?

Majestic Cause (Majestic Warrior x Counter Cat, by Hennessy) was never off the board in 5 starts for Stonestreet.
He was a $42k weanling, a $137k yearling, and a $700k two year old in training.
So here you go! For $400 you can have a very cute, near bomb-proof partner in crime that cost other people almost $900,000

And this 2 yr old unnamed kiddo (Stay Thirsty x Lights Off Annie) is a half brother to current Repole stakes winner Clipthecouponannie.
Not sure what the story is on why they aren't pursuing him as a racing prospect, but he's so freaking adorable!

He will try to walk behind you with his nose on your shoulder or in your ponytail (if you have one), which is sooo sweet but we have to remind him of personal space before he gets too big! He just wants to be your pocket pet. He is a wiggle worm for grooming and wants to put his nose on you all the time, his ground manners are a work in progress. He is green to herd dynamics and sometimes does not understand that other geldings cherish their personal space. Lito wants to be everybody’s friend! Its all part of growing up. He will certainly add a youthful excitement to any turnout group as he loves to tear across the field and kick up his heels. He does not have any stable vices.

Casting (Quest x Risen Starlet, by Secretariat) wasn't the fastest on the track, with most of his 22 starts in claiming company, but I'm terribly sentimental about his physicality and his pedigree.
Casting is out of Risen Starlet (Secretariat x Break Over). Risen Starlet's dam, Break Over, is a full sister to Ribbon, the dam of Risen Star
I'm sure there's a less confusing way to word that, but... I NEED A BARN, STAT.

Round Midnight - son of AP Indy and Miss Shop - for adoption.
He is cute, and sounds like an absolute gem of a horse.

This thread always makes me sad that I don't have a trust fund.
I guess I could sell my eggs.

El Gran Turismo, by Arch out of Cambiocorsa, is up for adoption at New Vocations. He is a hunky little dude:

Speak Logistics is up for adoption, but unfortunately as a companion only. He was retired last year, but apparently had a "non-racing injury" that will keep him from a second career as a riding horse. He's a handsome guy, though. Hope he finds a good home!
