Tachyon, by any chance you have the past performances of Deep Impact and Broad Appeal?

Thinking of getting into Japanese racing exclusively thanks to them and for my dismay with the Americans' "dysfunctional" racing. They are arguably two of the most exciting racehorses I have ever seen. Yes, even exciting to rewatch than Secretariat, Ghostzapper, Zenyatta, and American Pharoah. l need an actual order of Deep Impact and Broad Appeal's races. I expanded my collection and would like to have all their races if I can find them all on YouTube. Even if I can't understand the calls, I replay more of their races than other greater horses. And my collection has doubled to 600+ races with all of Beholder, Rachel Alexandra, and Ruffian's races.

I love the sprinter, Broad Appeal, win on dirt and turf. No prejudice to a specific surface. I also love the camera angles and seeing the Japanese crowd throw their programs in the air in one of Deep Impact's races. I was already a fan of Deep Impact before he ran in the Arc and was aware of Broad Appeal a year later when Gin Talking mentioned her. I try to watch Frankel's races and fall asleep. Black Caviar career highlights too. I have Dubai Millennium, Giant's Causeway, and so on. Some cool performances but I still can't get into them. Deep Impact and Broad Appeal from 10-15+ years ago closing fast to win against LARGE FIELDS are just more exciting to rewatch than most greats from US, Europe, and Australia.

I was already a fan of Deep Impact before he ran in the Arc and was aware of Broad Appeal a year later when Gin Talking mentioned her.

I remember that!
I started to browse TBC FORUM in 2003 when I was looking for some extra info about Funny Cide after his Preakness win. I used to live in America and North American racing was my home in those days. I became a TBC member in 2005 after I saw Smarty Jones' TC bid and left America for Japan in 2004.

Gin Talking was a very active, knowledgeable and thoughtful poster and I learned a lot from her.
(I always hope she will be back!!)
I remember translating a Japanese racecall of the Negishi Stakes into English on her request.... good old days!

Major Emblem(JPN), 2013F. Daiwa Major(JPN) x Catchy Title(JPN) by Opera House(GB), cruised to win the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies 1600m turf at Hanshin on Dec 13th 2015, improving her record to 4-3-1-0.
She stamped herself the best 2yo filly of the country and will be voted so in the JRA awards.
Daiwa Major(JPN)(Sunday Silence) has had a big year with his 2yos.
Jockey Christophe Lemaire grabbed his first G1 title as a JRA licensed rider.

That was a very impressive win by Sambista...the lovely, leggy mare really kicked it into high gear in the stretch.
Tachyon, since she is going to be seven very soon, do you think she will stay in training, or be retired to be a broodmare?

Sambista(JPN)(M6. Suzuka Mambo) has been retired from racing after all.
She will be a broodmare at Grand Bokujo (Stud) where she was born.

Lachesis(JPN)(M5. Deep Impact), 2014 QE2 Cup winner, has also been retired.
She will return to Northern Farm to be a broodmare, too.

Leontes(JPN), 2013C. King Kamehameha(JPN) x Cesario(JPN) by Special Week(JPN), won the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes 1600m turf at Hanshin in dramatic fashion. He became the first colt in JRA history to win a G1 in only his second career start since the grade system was implemented in 1984.
He stamps himself the best 2yo colt of the country and will be voted so in the JRA award.
Race's favorite Air Spinel(JPN), 2013C. King Kamehameha(JPN) x Air Meesiah(JPN) by Sunday Silence(JPN), was second. Air Messiah(JPN), G1 Shuka Sho winner and worthy opponent for chanpion Cesario while they were racing, died in a paddock accident last year.

Fuji Kiseki(JPN), the eldest son of Sunday Silence(USA), became the first stallion in Japan to sire his grade stakes winners from his 16 consecutive crops, when Isala Bonita(JPN)[2011C. Fuji Kiseki(JPN) x Isla Cozzne(USA) by Cozzene(USA)] won the G3 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes 1800m turf at Tokyo on Nov 16th 2013.

The previous record (At least one grade stakes winner from the stallion's 15 consecutive crops) had been held by Northern Taste(CAN) and himself.

Today is a very sad day.
Fuji Kiseki(JPN), 23yo, one of the greatest sons of Sunday Silence(USA), died of cervical injury at Shadai Stallion Station on Dec 28th 2015.

That was BIG NEWS for the Sunday Silence followers in Japan at least.
And might be so for French breeders, too.

That was nothing but a G2 win by a 5yo gelding?
But I'm sure that was ‘major’ news for a ‘minor’ stallion like Peer Gynt(JPN) who could not even have been a stallion if he had been left in Japan where the saturation of Sunday Silence blood is a serious issue.

About 6-7 years ago, there was a French breeder who introduced a group of ‘unknown’ Sunday Silence sons (including Peer Gynt) and a grandson (by Fuji Kiseki) to studs in Europe (France). And Sunday Silence fans in Japan really appreciated that move and have always been waiting for good news from overseas racings.

And now, we are very delighted by the fact that even Peer Gynt, a minor son of Sunday Silence, can sire a graded winner outside Japan, which should underscore the excellence of our beloved Sunday Silence.


In the meantime, Haras de Grandcamp (France) posted a new video of Dabirsim(FR) (Hat Trick) who relocated to France from Germany for 2016 season, recently.

Hopefully, Flamboyant’s G2 success will add to the popularity of the Sunday Silence bloods as a whole, when breeders are keen to introduce them.

Flamboyant(FR)(Peer Gynt), an European import who won the San Gabriel (G2) and San Marcos (G2) both at Santa Anita recently, has arrived at Dubai this morning to run in the G1 Dubai Turf in two weeks representing the US.

Good luck to him!!!!



There going to be two Sunday Silence grandsons in the Dubai Turf this year.
