Makahiki(JPN), 2013C. Deep Impact(JPN) x Wikiwiki(JPN) by French Deputy(USA), won the Wakagoma Stakes easily, demonstrating an eye-catching acceleration in the final straight. Wakagoma Stakes is an ungraded stakes, but past winners include such subsequent G1 winners as Tokai Teio, Unrivaled and Makahiki's sire Deep Impact.
Makahiki, an undefetaed (2 for 2) full brother to multiple graded winning mare Uliuli(JPN), now emerges as a legitimate contender for the upcoming Japanese Classics.

So she did. I was a little surprised she didn't go off favored. Hope she does get that stakes win this year; she's certainly been close.mariasmon wrote:She did win.Starine wrote:Penwith (Bernardini x Composure) runs tomorrow at Gulfstream in the allowance feature. Mike smith up on Ziconic for the work again today . " he's ready" @ClockersCorner @santaanitapark @JohnLea13901661
What are the odds he makes a start late Jan/early Feb, joins the Derby trail and makes it to the starting gate?

He is built so differently than Coz'...looks like a Tapit, and not so much like a Warmblood.
If Smith's big smile is any indicator, this boy may have some talent.

We visited Pegasus Training and Rehabilitation Center this weekend and met Blind Luck's 2014 colt by Giant's Causeway (should get his official name soon). He's quite friendly, but didn't want to stand still for photos.
Blind Luck's firstborn by Bernardini, I'm The Reason, is at their other farm just being a horse for awhile. She's had some growing pains and issues and should resume training sometime soon.
Pegasus is a peaceful and beautiful setting for horses with all the latest in rehab and training equipment. Here's some random photos of other horses. It was a typical Northwest winter day, with drizzling rain all day long, but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of this place and the amazing hospitality of Dr. Mark Dedomenico.
Walking off the newly renovated Polytrack training track after galloping, #8 Prime Engine, 2012 C, Northern Afleet - Gravy Train's Song, by Unbridled's Song, top 3-year-old male at Emerald Downs last year; and #9 Awesome Love, 2012 F, Zensational - Quisom, by Gone West.
Party Pooper, 2012 C, Desert Party - Radcliffe Yard, by Boston Harbor, coming back after a 3 furlong run. He's entered in the Portland Mile at Portland Meadows Tuesday.
Luckfromabove (IRE), unraced 2013 F, Excellent Art (GB) - Valdara (GB), by Darshaan (GB), on the HydroHorse (Water Treadmill) and in the Equine Swimming Pool.

Leslie's Harmony (Curlin x Leslie's Lady), a 3-yr-old half-sister to Beholder and Into Mischief, makes her debut tomorrow at Gulfstream in race 2 for Todd Pletcher. Castellano has the mount.
Bridlewood paid $1.1 mil for her as a yearling.

She dead-heated for 3rd, behind the winner by about 10 lengths.BlindLucky wrote:Leslie's Harmony (Curlin x Leslie's Lady), a 3-yr-old half-sister to Beholder and Into Mischief, makes her debut tomorrow at Gulfstream in race 2 for Todd Pletcher. Castellano has the mount.
