I am always continually delighted by Animal Kingdom. I don't know that I noticed how handsome he is when he was racing, but he sure is a good looking horse, top to bottom.
Alpha has a very expressive eye.
Is Street Sense always that uphill (or maybe he just has mega-TB withers?), or is it just how he's standing?
Street Boss is a handsome dude, and has a bit of that 'hulk smash' thickness, too.

Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

He settled in the same stall that his sire Stay Gold had lived.
His stud fee is going to be JPY 3,000,000 (about US$ 25K) for his debut season.
Gold Ship and I'll Have Another -- Tension rises? haha, Who is going to be the boss?

I don't often see horses shipped with hoods on. Is there a particular reason? Is it to facilitate noise cancellation?
Whatever reason, I'm charmed to see that his is even personalized.

It just makes me happy to know he will be in Stay Gold's stall.

Not sure where this belongs but is interesting, if it turns out to be true. I was scrolling through the AOBFS twitter feed that CoronadosQuest posted in the "2014 Names" thread and saw this posted today.

JFK Is in America Probably for breeding duties but to be confirmed but thats where he has ended up.

The thread says he was sold and they are trying to confirm details. I think he's been a disappointment as a racehorse for Coolmore, but his breeding is excellent: Galileo (IRE) - Rumplestiltskin (IRE), by Danehill. I wonder who manages that twitter feed. It also says this, "just didnt work out too many mental issues."

The guy who runs that twitter used to run the Coolmore fan page on Facebook and is pretty legit when it comes to intel.Sparrow Castle wrote:Not sure where this belongs but is interesting, if it turns out to be true. To say JFK was a disappointment is an understatement. He finished his 2 year old season as the favourite for the Derby but finished 3rd of 3 and 7th of 7 in his first 2 races as a 3 year old, before managing 3rd of 5 in a G3 at Leopardstown in - then poof! He's gone.
In a similar vein of high expectations/amazing pedigree/good 2 y/o season - I wonder what will become of Ol Man River (Montjeu X Finsceal Beo)

Thanks for the info about the twitter guy. I know it was a bit of an understatement. I was hoping JFK would would be a world beater, considering his namesake. Just puzzling to me that he'd be coming to a buyer in American to stand stud...Calumet maybe...dunno.Northport wrote:The guy who runs that twitter used to run the Coolmore fan page on Facebook and is pretty legit when it comes to intel.Sparrow Castle wrote:Not sure where this belongs but is interesting, if it turns out to be true. Yeah, Ol' Man River...the amount of money they spend on babies is incomprehensible to me.

Aww, that sucks. Exchange Rate was one of those extremely special horses that was bred to the nines, sold for a lot as a yearling, was a successful racehorse, and a successful sire. RIP handsome.
He is the sire of 2 of my favourites in training: Excaper and Victory Exchange.
