Discreet Cat Smash!

Street Sense and Hard Spun look amazing as always.

Street Boss is surprisingly a good looking boy.
Soylent green is....tasty!!!

I am always continually delighted by Animal Kingdom. I don't know that I noticed how handsome he is when he was racing, but he sure is a good looking horse, top to bottom.

Alpha has a very expressive eye.

Is Street Sense always that uphill (or maybe he just has mega-TB withers?), or is it just how he's standing?

Street Boss is a handsome dude, and has a bit of that 'hulk smash' thickness, too. ;)
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

Gold Ship(JPN) arrived safely in Big Red Farm today.
He settled in the same stall that his sire Stay Gold had lived.
His stud fee is going to be JPY 3,000,000 (about US$ 25K) for his debut season.

I don't often see horses shipped with hoods on. Is there a particular reason? Is it to facilitate noise cancellation?

Whatever reason, I'm charmed to see that his is even personalized. :)

I dont envy whoever is going to be Gold Ship's stallion handler - he was already a handful on the track, I cant imagine covering mares will calm him down much

Not sure where this belongs but is interesting, if it turns out to be true. I was scrolling through the AOBFS twitter feed that CoronadosQuest posted in the "2014 Names" thread and saw this posted today.

JFK Is in America Probably for breeding duties but to be confirmed but thats where he has ended up.
https://twitter.com/aobrienfansite/stat ... 7355705344

The thread says he was sold and they are trying to confirm details. I think he's been a disappointment as a racehorse for Coolmore, but his breeding is excellent: Galileo (IRE) - Rumplestiltskin (IRE), by Danehill. I wonder who manages that twitter feed. It also says this, "just didnt work out too many mental issues."

The guy who runs that twitter used to run the Coolmore fan page on Facebook and is pretty legit when it comes to intel.

To say JFK was a disappointment is an understatement. He finished his 2 year old season as the favourite for the Derby but finished 3rd of 3 and 7th of 7 in his first 2 races as a 3 year old, before managing 3rd of 5 in a G3 at Leopardstown in - then poof! He's gone.

In a similar vein of high expectations/amazing pedigree/good 2 y/o season - I wonder what will become of Ol Man River (Montjeu X Finsceal Beo)

Thanks for the info about the twitter guy. I know it was a bit of an understatement. I was hoping JFK would would be a world beater, considering his namesake. Just puzzling to me that he'd be coming to a buyer in American to stand stud...Calumet maybe...dunno.

Yeah, Ol' Man River...the amount of money they spend on babies is incomprehensible to me.

Pyro(USA)(Pulpit) sired his first graded winner, when his 3yo filly B B Barrel(JPN)[o/o Fine Dimple(JPN) by Silver Hawk(USA)] won in the G3 Fairy Stakes 1600m turf for 3yo filly at Nakayama on Jan 11th 2016. She will be pointed to the G1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) in April.
Pyro's offspring have been doing very well on either surface!!

Sad news as @Three_Chimneys announces that Exchange Rate has been euthanized.

Per Three Chimneys, Exchange Rate was recently treated for pneumonia & developed issues including a deep vein thrombosis of a hind leg.

Exchange Rate will be buried at Three Chimneys. The 19 yr-old son of Danzig has sired 49 stks winners w/progeny earnings of $39,601,849.

Aww, that sucks. Exchange Rate was one of those extremely special horses that was bred to the nines, sold for a lot as a yearling, was a successful racehorse, and a successful sire. RIP handsome.
He is the sire of 2 of my favourites in training: Excaper and Victory Exchange.
