You haven't seen over at the knee until you've seen....

And he was a pretty useful stallion.

He looks young (and good!) there.

I know it's not age related, you're either over at the knees or you're not.....but if you look at pics of him over the years he does look worse as he aged. Particularly in casual, unofficial photos vs professional conformation ones.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing about age. But maybe some wear & tear from all the breeding added to the original over-ness? And I'm sure the professional-vs-casual photos were also a big factor.

In the first photo he also seems to have his front feet underneath him, which would necessarily accentuate any over-ness.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

He was hip 1511 in the 2010 Keeneland September sale. Maybe there is a picture floating around from then?

With his pedigree, I'm guessing it's his front end that landed him later in the sale. He still brought $130,000, but I would think with his beautiful build and by Giant's Causeway out of an Indy mare, a correct front end would have been $500,000+.

I've always thought his neck was a bit short for his body, and/or his back is slightly long. His face/head is a bit big, but it adds to his charm.
I'm looking on my phone, but I also find his hind end a bit straight.
He has good bone and is nicely balanced, I think when he fills out he will be even more handsome!

Are we sure that picture isn't thirty years old?
