So, the hard copy BH Stallion Register has arrived! Even though I don't have a mare, I love paging through it and identifying the perfect as-yet-unrecognized great sire for my nonexistent mare! Which makes calculating "nicks" difficult. Not to mention having all that equine eye candy in one package!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I came up with a "game" this summer when one of my friend's well-bred weanlings she worked with at Ashford was entered in a low-level claiming race. I pull up the cheaper claiming races at smaller tracks and start looking at mares in my "price range" (lol) to find diamonds in the rough, as it were. When you find something a little nicer than you expect, THEN you nick 'em against the stallions you like. Problem solved!
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
