Liams Map was one of those horses that they knew had talent all along, but obviously an $800,000 yearling purchase that doesn't make a start until August of their 3-year-old year had nagging little things that kept him out. It's a disappointment he has gone off to the shed, but he seems like the type that you would have to do a whole bunch with to keep right and ready for racing.

I would be interested to see who turns out to be the most popular (and the better) of the three Unbridled's Song freight trains that Pletcher trained - Graydar, Cross Traffic, or Liams Map? AND...throw in Will Take Charge. Will any of these guys carry on Unbridled's Song's *legacy*?

Tapiture looks like a fire cracker. Must be fun to deal with him. The Ass man said he was pretty wild before the Dirt Mile. Good lucky Darby Dan!

@claibornefarm: Welcome home Lea! He was led by @WalkerHancock to his new stall which previous housed Nasrullah and Boundary. https://t.co/mWSkvbgYR1

Seems that nowadays with larger stallion rosters, and especially the number of mares bred, having 2 breeding sheds is pretty much a necessity..Spendthrift just built a new one, Darley, Winstar, Lanes end, and Ashford all have two sheds to the best of my knowledge..makes you wonder how Claiborne manages with just one..

Great question. I would guess it would have something to do with how many mares they actually breed.

Did a quick look to see what their stallions covered last year:
Algorithms: 51
Arch: 67
Blame: 119
Data Link: 122 (really surprised at this number!)
First Samurai: 99
Flatter: 96
Orb: 117
Stroll: 36
Trappe Shot: 119
War Front: 109

So, that's 935 mares. I could see how just one shed could be doable, although 2 would make life so much easier.

I have a yearling filly by Temple city, I knew he had a large book, but I was shocked at 199....I applaud Claiborne for keeping their stallions at a somewhat sane number.....

Anyone want to hazard a guess at how many mares will be in AP's first book?

Coolmore's standard for their young stallions is usually 200-225.

Also, breeding rights to Nyquist have been purchase by Darley

After the last 5 champion 2 y/o colts (excluding Shared Belief) went to Coolmore, Darley hopped on this one quick

You can bet at least 200, and then if he shuttles, another 200. total over production in my opinion. I prefer smaller crops like 120 max, then you may have some value going for you in the sales.

Glen Hill Farm's graded stakes winner Global View to South Africa for 2016. They had mentioned they were giving him the winter off, then would come back for a campaign next year, but I guess they changed their mind!

I think Nyquist is the first Two-Year-Old Champ (which he's bound to be, IMO) in years to NOT be bought by Coolmore. :P

Tonalist isn't getting the respect he deserves. He's always been sound, and why not continue to race him!

Empire Maker is a handsome lad, looks like his sire there (minus the big blaze).
Tapit looks like a pony (sorry, he does).
And Karakontie... well, he could run fast.
