142, On Parade, by Storm Cat out of My Flag (!!!) in foal to War Front. High high will she go?
ETA: $750,000...will she RNA, or is that pretty good for an older mare?

Also less breeding seasons left on older mares, means less time to recoup your investment, so it makes sense.Izvestia wrote:Older mares sell cheaper usually. The young girls are shiny and new!

178 Seduire has so many white spots on her grey butt that it looks like an Appy snuck into her paddock.

Do not be fooled. The market was not good in September, and it is no better now. It is a frightening situation for many breeders.mimi6920 wrote:
Especially since the September sale saw such crazy high prices. The market looked very strong, but it doesn't right now....

Too many breeders paying too much for mares and too much for stud fees, then trying to recoup costs by selling one of 100 yearlings by Stallion X to a shrinking pool of potential owners who haven't yet realized not only that buying seven-figure yearlings is not only NOT a sure way to buy a seven-figure earner, its a sure way to. . .lose seven figures. . . the economics of breeding make no sense as currently structured.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.
