I don't think that's a different pic for Einstein. Silver Max has always been really good looking.

Wasn't sure if it was new for Einstein, didn't think so but couldn't find one in this thread.

Pretty attractive, with that refined Galileo head and a miler's build.

Oh my, very nice (though I'm not sure if it's the surface he's on or how they slightly under-angled his hind end, but it makes his rear look a bit weaker than his front).

Does he look a bit short from the point of his croup to the top of his tail...and the point of his hip?

I'm looking forward to a confo shot of the recently-retired The Big Beast. :D

Is there generally a "season" for new confo shots, or do farms update at their leisure? Staring at stallion conformation all day is one of my favorite things, for whatever reason, so I'm always excited for a flood of new photos.

Also, curious -- do most horses get updated photos every year? Or are some farms comfortable with using the same picture for years at a time?
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

let's talk about dynaformer's conformation shot. i went to three chimneys back when slew o gold was still with us and seatlle slew was still active in the shed. when dynaformer died, the confo pic they were using at that time was still the only one i ever saw used.

were they that unwilling to handle him? they used to bring him out during open house, so i don't imagine that was the case.

My guess is that that picture was him on a good day. He wasn't pretty, but his offspring sold themselves and him.

I don't know if how a stallion looks as he ages is really that relevant to potential breeders. It's how his conformation looks while he's in his prime that shows breeders what they want to know.
Seeing our favorite fellows as they get some age on them is fun for us fans, but it's doubtful that a farm is going to try to promote a senior stud with a new photo if he has gotten a sway back or grey muzzle. ;)

Juddmonte releases new conformation shot of Kingman
http://www.juddmonte.com/news/2015/0211 ... ation.aspx
The four-time Gr.1 winner, whose dam Zenda is a half-sister to OASIS DREAM, covered a high class first book of over 140 mares, comprising 80% blacktype earners/producers and 25 Gr.1 winners/dams of Gr.1 winners.

Among them were Gr.1 winning fillies Passage Of Time (dam of Time Test), African Rose, Emulous, Pride, Promising Lead, Proportional and Taghrooda, as well as the dams of FRANKEL, Al Kazeem, Legatissimo, Reckless Abandon, Star Of Seville and Workforce.

Me, hankering for AP/HC/LM/etc. stud shots a whole two days after their retirement...

Ahem, anyhow. I like the look of Kingman, though he's not especially flashy. His neck could be a bit more refined, but that doesn't hurt 'em on the track. ;) I'm curious, though -- he seems to have some interesting brush marks (especially on the back half of his hindquarters). Is that intentional? I'm used to stallion photos being quite slick smooth.

It all depends on the farm. Some do not like to have confos taken until after they stood a year and has gained more of a stallion physique. Others update every couple years. Some seem to use the same photo the horse's life.
