I thought I'd pull all the posts out of the stallion thread, because this topic always interests me.

Big Brown has a huge bump from 46 in 2014 to 138 in 2015 - I guess the move to NY and Dortmund might have helped that

He is the best Tapit that NY has and they offer some incentives to breed to him. But, if you look at his Bloodhorse stallion directory page, what they use to fill 2 lines under his picture, is listing other important winners of the Hutcheson S.(G2).

Going off the top of my head - the top 10 stallions are Ashford and Spendthrift stallions, right?

Except Kittens Joy!

Hey Flanders,

Do you want to see the numbers of mares bred by those stallions who stood in Japan 2015 in this thread as well?

I never understood what anyone was doing sending their mares to him.

Violence got a pretty good book this year, the 2015 foals I've seen look nice.

So this question came up earlier, but are those the number of mares bred just on Northern Hemisphere time? Or do those include mares if they shuttled to Southern Hemisphere farms?

Glad to see Birdstone getting 84 mares. There there are some that make me go... wow, really?

Freud - 70 mares. I get that NY has a limited mare population, but he's solid as a sire.
Smarty Jones - 49 <cringe> when I think what people paid for him his 1st season.
Mizzen Mast - 47. Really?? He's solid! I'd send him a mare if I planned to race.
Caleb's Posse - 38. This is what is in store when you win the Dirt Mile
Colonel John - 36. He'd make a lovely pony in another couple of years
Boys at Tosconova - 34. Another pretty pony.
Langfuhr - 32. Maybe he should stand in Ontario?
Clubhouse Ride - 24. Just no
Corfu - 24. WHY??
Snapy Halo - 23. Probably because he was so underpriced.
Alphabet Soup - 21. Such a grand animal. They ought to just pension him. Are they?
Mr Besilu - 19. How many mares does Besilu stable own?
Einstein - 17. I have to imagine he's for sale
Black Onyx - 15. Didn't realize he was even retired
Congaree - 15. Pension this old man, please. He's a classy boy
Nicanor - 15. FOB DO own mares
Point Given - 15. Ouch.
Monba - 14. I remember people who liked him in the Derby
Tizdejavu - 14. Probably safe to say Tiznow may not be a sire of sires
Touch Gold - 13. Another ouch.
Giacomo - 12. Just, no.
Grindstone - 9. Derby winner = all the mares
Cowboy cal - 8. How is he still in KY?
Ide - 6. I assume his age is catching up. He's a solid small market sire.
Archwarrior - 5. wasnt' this supposed to be a TC winner?
Ive Struck a Nerve - 5. I thought this horse was a gelding
Medallist - 4. Always loved this colt when he ran
Sun King - 4 :(
Norman Asbjornson - 3. remember this guy? Neither do breeders.
AP Warrior - 1
Europe - 1. Another candidate for gelding
Four Feet of Snow - 1. Isn't this the gorgeous palamino?

Caleb's Posse is by Posse - maybe not the most attractive breeding?
Black Onyx is OVER PRICED.

Sure that would be fine. :)

I just wanted to get the topic out of the Stallion News thread so we didn't clutter it up.

These are just Northern Hemisphere numbers, since the Southern Hemisphere breeding season is still going on. There might be a small chance some of the mares were bred on Southern Hemisphere time in the US. But no shuttle stallions will have numbers on here from the Southern Hemisphere.

Remember Stonewall Farm in KY that was a fiscal disaster. They lost possession of the farm and then moved to Florida where they changed their named to Woodford, which was already a farm in Florida about 20-30 minutes away, so they had to change their name again to HallMarc Farm at Woodford, or some nonsense. I noticed a lot of their stallions got very little mares. I can't find a webpage so went looking, I've included their last known stallion roster, since they haven't posted on their facebook page since 2014. Of course maybe they changed their name yet again but the stallions can't be found if searching on Bloodhorse's stallion register. If I search on the 2015 Florida leading sires list, only Spellbinder and Value Plus show that they stand at HallMarc Stallions at Stonewall Farm Ocala, the others say N/A Florida, or aren't even on the list. So what the heck is this farm up to now? How is not advertising your stallions a good move? Are breeders just afraid to go near their stallions because of the farms extremely troubled past?

HallMarc Stallions' 2014 Roster and Stud Fees (2013 fee)

A. P. Warrior, $4,500 ($4,500) - 1 mare FL
Big Drama, $10,000 ($10,000) - 84 mares FL - was moved to Bridlewood for 2015
Doneraile Court, $3,000 ($1,000) - 1 mare FL
Frisco Star, $2,000 ($1,000) - nothing for 2015, no report of mares bred, no death report, no export
It's No Joke, $3,000 ($1,000) - nothing for 2015, no report of mares bred, no death report, no export
Spellbinder, $2,000 ($1,000) - nothing for 2015, no report of mares bred, no death report, no export
Strong Contender , $3,000 ($3,000) - 16 mares IN (was moved for 2015)
Unforgettable Max, $2,000 ($1,000) - has hold on both 2010 and 2014 Report of Mares bred, nothing for 2015, no report of mares bred, no death report, no export
Value Plus, $4,500 ($4,500) - 2 mares FL

I think Point Given will get a bit of a boost for 2016 after Dortmund.
