Didn't he stand somewhere this year? NY or something?
So, will someone please educate me why this millionaire only sold for $150,000?

Probably because he garnered little interest at stud. He only covered 27 mares, his sire, Roman Ruler, only got 21, his sire, Fusaichi Pegasus, only got 39. Their line doesn't seem to be in fashion.

I see Three Chimneys has 2014 stud fees listed, but I don't see Red Giant. Has he been moved because on the Bloodhorse stallion directory he is still listed at Three Chimneys.

G2 winner and 2012 Arc 3rd Masterstroke has been quietly retired and will stand for 3,000 euros at Darley's Haras Du Logis. A pretty decent racehorse when in the hands of Andre Fabre, he is also beautifully bred, out of a daughter of the Urban Sea

Shingo Nakanishi, stud manager of JBBA, commented;
'' Summer Bird has already settled in to his new life here. He is very fresh, full of energy, moving around in the pasture.''
''We received a lot of feedback from the breeders after the stallion parade (in February), probably because he was in decent shape physically. He covered 127 broodmares this year.''
''Actually I’ve been to the states to see his US-bred babies. I thought they were uniformly excellent. With his pedigree and form, he may sire good runners who will also suit turf races in Japan. '' (He has a magnificent physique like a G1 winner on the conventional dirt in the US. But, at the same time, he has light footwork, too.)
''He loves mint candy.'' :)

I loved Summer Bird. I'm glad he's going to get a good chance to succeed in Japan.

Thanks for the pictures and the update!

It now looks like uma-furusato.com gets back to its own self. :D
Today they have posted a new write-up about Empire Maker(USA). 8-)

P.S.
My only hope is that there will be some TBC members who just love these new picks of Empire Maker....
(Also I strongly hope that this wondeful website ''uma-furusato.com'' will become bilingual someday.)

Shingo Nakanishi, stud manager of JBBA, commented;
''Empire Maker has been in great shape. He covered 192 mares this year and his fertility rate has been very high. We will start to give him mounted walks this month in preparation for the next breeding season.
''Empire Maker is such a bright horse. He has an inner fortitude, too.''
''Genetically, most of his babies are big and distinguished-looking. They are quite versatile doing very well on any surface -- dirt, turf and synth tracks, from sprint to route. His babies have already sold well in Japan. And I believe that he will bring new energy to the market here.''
''I really look forward to seeing his Japanese babies make their debuts next year!''
