:D Glad Boston Baked Bean is doing well. And a great big thank you to Paul Rutherford and everybody else who helped make it all happen.

Now hearing the Broadway Deb did not sell to a KB, but did sell to a local "horse trader" -- whatever that means. But at least sounds like she won't be in Mexico tomorrow.

I rode for some horse traders in that area in high school...they would buy a lot of horses at the auction, resell some as riding horses, rent some out to summer camps or trail riding strings, and if they didn't work out they went back to the auction. So still not a great outcome but way better news than her being in the kill pen.

Hip 91 from Mike's Auction, a 4yo TB filly, apparently has been ID'd as Ticket to Ride (although I couldn't find a registration in that name). And she has an adoptive home, with ther 3yo fill, First Fair Lady.

AHR had been looking for, and finally found, her dam: Blonde Fever. She's privately owned, but not in good shape. AHR is currently looking not so much for money to save her, but for a home for her. AHR is full up. Read more here:

And the reason I couldn't find her on Equineline is because that name is wrong. She is Ticket to Return, by Boomerang (who??). Unraced.

Between the transport and the final death march waiting for their turn in the kill box, hearing those ahead of them die, they would have gone through days of hell before dying a nightmarish death. And no, it wasn't a humane end even when it took place in this country.

Jenny did a wonderful job with that. Isn't this the horse that was sent to a layover place for a racing injury and then mysteriously acquired this additional injury?

When I first saw that photo, I was torn between closing my eyes while I cried...and staring at the image of that mangled flesh, trying to figure out what I was seeing. Tendons? Bone?!? Dear god.
That 'Phil is still alive...and that his leg has healed that well is a small miracle...thanks to an angel named Jenny.

Makes you wonder just what happened there - a little horse tripping practice, or what? Also, how many other horses that were sent there to heal from racing injuries and took an unexpected turn for the worse.

At the auction in Turlock, CA, last night, at least 2 older TBs were pulled: Regal Sal and the mare Lou's Suzie Que. According to Megan, not long ago, Regal Sal's owner had told her RS had died "peacefully" in a field.

Brings to mind the skunk that adopted Norway and Trophy Case from RMR. Wonder whether the skunk obtained the horse under false pretenses, in which case the previous owner might be able to file fraud charges.

Do you think it would be OK to post this information about what happened to Regal Sal on other forums? Especially the name(s) of the conniving bit@h who has been pulling this heartless scam on trusting folks looking for homes for their horses?
