Pahaha, poor warmblood kids. Some of these guys have had that gangly misshapen "yearling" look to them, but not many -- then again, I guess that's how you get into Book 1! I do worry about horses who are already huge as long yearlings and how much time they'll need to settle into their big bodies when training.Treve wrote:I can't watch atm since I am at work unfortunately but that picture in particular is kind of ridiculous. I know TB yearlings generally are better looking than WB yearlings (there is a joke at my barn about how that is why we keep the WB babies in the back, so no one sees them LOL) but yeah some look straight up 3 years old at times. But that is why I am always curious to see how they will grow out - if they will keep their proportions or end up funky.
I'm primed to grab a screencap of #121, thanks for the heads up Flanders.
ETA: I think it's HILARIOUS when "cribber" goes up in red letters on the screen. It's just funny. I had a show gelding who cribbed and it was annoying but the collar worked fine. Does cribbing hurt racehorses in a particular way? Or are they really just that vigilant about making sure you don't end up with an obnoxious as hell horse?
